A 12-foot statue of President Donald Trump and financier Jeffrey Epstein appeared at the National Mall in Washington. According to DC News Now, the statue, showing the two personalities holding hands, was set up on the lawn near Third Street. The report mentions that this wasn’t the first statue to pop up at the National Mall.

The group believed to be behind the sculpture had previously installed similar statues of the President but has remained anonymous. Passersby stopped to take photos with the statue. One of the passersby said:

“I think it's fantastic. I took some pictures. I'm sending them to my sister down in North Carolina.”

A second person told the outlet:

“It's hilarious. It's entirely appropriate. Two of them are, you know, bound at the hip.”

He also spoke about the Epstein files, saying that there were a lot of names in them, and those must come to light. Inscribed on a plaque below the statue were the words:

“In Honour of Friendship Month. We celebrate the long-standing bond between President Donald J. Trump and his “closest friend,” Jeffrey Epstein.”

Two additional plaques displayed what appeared to be a birthday message allegedly written by the President to Epstein. However, the White House noted that the letter was fabricated. A representative said that the President did not write the letter, nor did he sign it.

Another onlooker told DC News Now:

“I think it's something that people should not forget. I think that we should hold our leaders accountable if they indeed are in there.”

What did Donald Trump say about people’s interest in Jeffrey Epstein’s case?

According to a report by The Guardian, the National Park Service has allowed the statue to stay where it is until 8 p.m. on September 28. Besides, a statement from the White House said:

“Liberals are free to waste their money however they see fit – but it’s not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep.”

In July 2025, Trump told CNN he did not understand why his supporters were so focused on Jeffrey Epstein, adding:

“We have said for a long time, he was never a big factor in terms of life. I don’t understand what the interest or what the fascination is. I really don’t. And the credible information’s been given. Don’t forget, we went through years of the Mueller w*tch hunt and all of the different things, The Steele dossier, which was all fake. All the information was fake.”

Trump reiterated that he could not see why Jeffrey Epstein’s case attracted so much attention, describing it as boring and sordid. He maintained, however, that credible information should be shared.
