Convicted offender Ghislaine Maxwell made a revelation about Jeffrey Epstein going on a date with Princess Diana. The US Department of Justice recently released an interview from July 24, conducted with Maxwell by Todd Blanche.
As heard in the interview recording posted by MSNBC, Blanche asked Maxwell about how her relationship with Epstein changed post-2000. He also asked if Epstein had connections with the royal family. Maxwell replied in the affirmative, adding that Epstein had connections with Princess Diana’s best friend, Rosa Monckton, along with Rosa’s husband, Dominic Lawson.
Maxwell vaguely recalled Epstein meeting Diana at an event organised by Rosa in London, adding:
“I don't know if she was being set up as a date for him maybe because I don't want to speak bad of Diana.”
Ghislaine Maxwell mentioned that she did not introduce Jeffrey Epstein to Prince Andrew. However, Blanche mentioned how Prince Andrew once claimed that he met Epstein through her. Maxwell claimed that it was true, as she said:
“Because I’m English and my close friends are all close friends with Sarah and Andrew. And I would not say that I was close friends with Andrew before, but certainly we were friendly and certainly his best friends, some of them are very very close with me.”
Ghislaine Maxwell explained that she thought her friendship and presence made Prince Andrew trust Jeffrey Epstein more. When Blanche asked if she played a role in bringing them together, Maxwell said she would never have introduced them, as she couldn’t see any real connection between the two.
Ghislaine Maxwell said she was not happy about Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew’s bond
Ghislaine Maxwell also claimed that Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein met a few times, but those meetings had nothing to do with her. At the time, she was not in touch with the prince. Despite that, she was annoyed by their relationship as she felt insulted and left out.
Maxwell said she was once informed by Epstein that Prince Andrew would visit New York, and she had to look after the arrangements. She said she was fine with it as Epstein wanted Andrew to be comfortable during his stay. However, she asked him if she could meet Prince Andrew, to which Epstein suggested that she could drop by and greet him.
Ghislaine Maxwell also mentioned that she did not have access to Epstein’s place, saying:
“I was not allowed to go to his house unless I was summoned or told. I was not allowed to answer his phones.”
Maxwell met Prince Andrew and the two became good friends, and she said it was different than how it was in England.
Elsewhere in the interview, while discussing Jeffrey Epstein’s relationship with President Donald Trump, Ghislaine Maxwell said that Donald Trump had always treated her kindly, and she admired his achievement of becoming president. She explained that she had always liked him, and that was the extent of their relationship.
When asked about Trump’s connection with Jeffrey Epstein, she said she didn’t know how they met or became friends, but she had seen them together a few times in social gatherings where they seemed friendly.
