Streamer Hasan Piker, also known as HasanAbi, has been under online scrutiny for allegedly using a shock collar on his dog, Kaya. He had thoroughly rejected the accusation and even showed his viewers the type of collar Kaya wore that comprised a vibrator and an AirTag.
As he read out the comments, one user with the handle “@gyozaeatingmachine” asked:
“Why dont you let her roam around the house, I'm not a hatewatcher. just curious.”
Replying to the user, HasanAbi said that Kaya leads an active life. He said she gets two hours of playtime every morning at the gym or at the park. In the afternoon, she goes out for a long walk. Speaking about why he does not let her roam in the room, the streamer said:
“As far as not letting her roam in the room itself, there is a very specific purpose for that. That is because, and this is something that I've described over and over again, the reason why she's not allowed to roam inside of this room with the exception of like stretching or getting up, getting down, drinking water, things like that, is because she likes to lay on the ground. When she lays on the ground, that's terrible for her f*cking joints.”
HasanAbi explained that he takes care of his dog with help from a trainer or a vet. He believes dogs need enough exercise, time to be around other dogs, and a proper routine, especially if the dog was big. He said:
“Large dogs have a tendency to get hip dysplasia later on in their lives and they have joint issues.”
What did HasanAbi say about the online backlash?
One of the viewers asked HasanAbi why he was getting hatred from online users. He replied that it was about a recent incident when he was mad about his internet. He said during the livestream, he admonished Kaya.
He said Kaya, while getting up and down on her bed, might have hurt one of her nails. At the time, viewers speculated that he had shocked her as Kaya made a sound. The streamer said:
“It’s basically a perfect sh*t storm because obviously I have a lot of haters. Obviously, a lot of people love dogs, myself included. The clip looks f*cking horrible and people were like speculating because I was like moving around and they're like, ‘Oh, he was like hitting a button on his desk.’”
HasanAbi went on to say:
“The most insane part about it is that a lot of people were just like automatically under the assumption that I've been like abusing my dog that I love more than most human beings. Dogs hurt themselves.”
He commented that a lot of people had nothing better to do than hate everything he does. Despite that, HasanAbi acknowledged the one who raised concerns out of love, even though they were blindsided by the circumstances of the situation.
