Former US Vice President Kamala Harris received support from Charli XCX during her 2024 presidential campaign. In a video posted on her Substack website, she was discussing her new book, 107 Days. As seen in the video clip, she said:
“At 5:29 p.m., staff alerted me that the British singer-songwriter Charli XCX had posted: Kamala is brat. Brat was the title of her latest album and identified me with her brand: edgy, imperfect, confident, embracing. From then on, our rebranded Kamala HQ social media site was awash in her signature color, lime green, and posts supporting us used that color.”

On September 22, Kamala Harris was a guest on The Rachel Maddow Show, where Maddow asked Harris about her opinions on the resistance towards Donald Trump. The former Vice President said that people showed their power when they spoke out and used their money after Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension, which helped push things in the right direction.
She explained that the real fight was not only about Donald Trump abusing the power given to him as president, but also about understanding that the issue was bigger than him. Kamala Harris went on:
“You know, so much of what has indeed overwhelmed people, not to mention just scared the stuff out of people is what we are witnessing is a high velocity event. We are witnessing something that has been happening so rapidly and it feels chaotic.”
Kamala Harris also added:
“But what I would offer you is what we are witnessing is the swift implementation of a plan that was decades in the making.”
Harris opined that Project 2025 did not come out of thin air, as it took years of work. She explained that the fight was not only about what was happening at that moment, like the government trying to silence people, but also about seeing that this problem had been building for a long time.
Kamala Harris said people needed to understand that the agenda behind it would not simply disappear once Trump left office.
