President Donald Trump has reacted to Bill Clinton’s photos in the Epstein files. On December 19, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) released some of these files in which Clinton was seen in a pool, on a private plane, and in other places. Meanwhile, on December 22, during a press conference, President Trump was asked if he was surprised by the number of Clinton’s photos in the files. He replied:

“I like Bill Clinton. I've always gotten along with Bill Clinton. I've been nice to him. He's been nice to me. We've always gotten along. Respect him. I hate to see photos come out of him. But this is what the Democrats, mostly Democrats, and a couple of bad Republicans are asking for. So, they're giving their photos of me, too. Everybody was friendly with this guy, either friendly or not friendly, but they, you know, he was around. He was all over Palm Beach and other places.”

Despite everything, he said he did not like Clinton’s photos being shown around. Not only Clinton but the President said that he did not like the photos of other people being shown. He went on to say:

“I think Bill Clinton’s a big boy. He can handle it. But you probably have pictures being exposed of other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago, many years ago, and they're, you know, highly respected bankers and lawyers and others.”

Trump said that people were overly focused on the Epstein issue instead of the achievements and successes of the country.

Bill Clinton’s office releases statement, calls out DOJ over transparency issues

Amidst all these, Clinton’s office released a statement about the Epstein files. Signed by his spokesperson Angel Ureña, the statement mentions that the Epstein Files Transparency Act comes with the responsibility on the DOJ to fulfill the public demands. The statement added:

“However, what the Department of Justice has released so far, and the manner in which it did so, makes one thing clear: someone or something is being protected. We do not know whom, what or why. But we do know this: We need no such protection. Accordingly, we call on President Trump to direct Attorney General Bondi to immediately release any remaining materials referring to, mentioning, or containing a photograph of Bill Clinton.”

The statement mentioned that such materials include legal documents like transcripts, notes from interviews, pictures, or any relevant findings. If these conditions are not met, it would mean that the DOJ lacks transparency. The statement went on to say:

“Refusal to do so will confirm the widespread suspicion the Department of Justice's actions to date are not about transparency, but about insinuation using selective releases to imply wrongdoing about individuals who have already been repeatedly cleared by the very same Department of Justice, over many years, under Presidents and Attorneys General of both parties.”

Angel Ureña had previously noted that the released photos were not about Bill Clinton. He mentioned that there are two groups involved. The ones who chose to disconnect with Epstein and those who stayed in touch. He said Clinton was in the first category.
