Social media personality India Love stirred the internet when she interrupted The Streamer Awards event held at The Wiltern Theatre on Saturday. After the Best Breakout Streamer award was given to FaZe Adapt, Love rushed to the stage and said that Rakai and DDG deserved the award more than Adapt.

"Breakout Streamer of the Year went to Adapt, and congratulations, and we respect you for what you did. But Rakai should have won Breakout Streamer of the Year and DDG. I don't care what y'all say." India Love said on stage.

The influencer was booed heavily by the audience. Several clips circulating on the internet showed that she was even escorted out of the Streamer Awards event.

An X user, @FearedBuck, shared a clip showing Love’s onstage interruption while reporting on the incident. Netizens were quick to share their thoughts on Love’s gesture. Many compared India Love’s move to Kanye West’s controversial onstage interruption.

For the unversed, at the 2009 VMAs, West cut off Taylor Swift’s speech, who won her first Moonman that year. Ye went on to say that Beyoncé deserved that award more. On Saturday, when India Love did something similar, a user commented,

"She tryna pull a kanye moment?"

Netizens blast India Love for disrupting Streamer Awards

Another netizen remarked that the model might be thinking of herself as a Kanye West, but she looked like a “drunk aunt” at a wedding.

"She thought she was having her Kanye West moment. In reality, she just looked like a drunk aunt at a wedding who grabbed the mic before security could stop her. Making gun sounds ('Boom boom boom') on stage at a black-tie award show isn't 'Real'; it’s embarrassing. Adapt won. She lost the plot. Sit down."

Referring to Boos, another internet user said that the streamer was hit with “uninstall energy” by the crowd.

"Crowd said 'not today' and hit her with the instant uninstall energy."

An X user simply called India Love's act "disrespectful."

"I dont even watch such streams but being on stage and saying that infront of a crowd is just mad disrespectful."

This user remarked that the boo from the crowd underscores how disruptive opinions can overshadow festivities.

"India Love being booed off stage underscores how disruptive personal opinions can overshadow a celebratory event. While her intent may have been to advocate for DDG and RaKai, the public reaction highlights the importance of respecting the flow of live shows and the achievements of the recognized winners."

A netizen slammed the influencer for treating the Streamer Awards stage as her personal stream chat.

"BOOOED OFF STAGE IS CRAZY... Imagine hijacking an entire awards moment just to push your personal фавs like it’s your own Twitch chat… DDG and Rakai got motion, sure, but acting like FaZe Adapt didn’t earn it is pure delusion. Main character syndrome on MAX volume. The crowd told her everything she needed to know in surround sound."

An X user noted that while Love’s opinion must be respected, announcing it in such a manner was certain to result in failure.

"Respect her opinion but announcing it on stage like that was bound to end badly."

India Love seemingly revealed to her dad the reason behind her actions. In a clip circulating on the internet, the influencer could be seen talking to her dad on a call after the event. In her conversation on the phone, she revealed that she spoke her mind on stage because Rakai looked sad when he did not win the award.
