IShowSpeed or Darren Jason Watkins Jr.'s Instagram DMs allegedly surfaced online on June 16, 2025. The text messages revealed his flirtatious exchanges with multiple women, which he claimed had been "leaked". The text exchange paints a false picture of the YouTuber, as the DMs date back to October 6, 2023, and were aired as part of the live broadcast.
During the live broadcast, IShowSpeed visited several TikTok livestreams in search of a potential match for himself. While browsing through livestreams, he came across Anya, who is also known as “ChopperHatGirl” on the platform.
After seeing her wearing a Tony Tony Chopper hat from One Piece, the Watkins took an interest and asked her if he could join the live stream. After being let in, the pair discussed their shared admiration and enthusiasm for anime. (IShowSpeed has previously expressed his love for One Piece online and has also claimed that it has "saved his life".)
A little while later, Speed wanted to ask Anna out on a date, and said,
"Imma have to get your number, you like One Piece, I like One Piece, we both the same age and sh*t, I think you're very beautiful, you got the Chopper hat on too.. I wanna take you out on a date."
Anya complemented his Luffy hat as well, but before finishing their conversation on the live stream, TikTok removed him from the live and banned Speed based on “s*xual activity and services”. The YouTuber was confused by the app's action.
He decided to continue his conversation with “ChopperHatGirl” on Instagram, and that is the source of the "leaked" text messages.
"What?! How did I get banned?! Se*ual? What?! Chat... I didn't even show my meat!.. Ay, chat, tell her I'm about to DM her on IG."
The "IShowMeat" meme went viral after IShowSpeed unintentionally revealed his genitalia during a jumpscare-filled live stream of Five Nights at Freddy's on August 16, 2023. This incident was mentioned in several of the livestream's conversations, including this one with Anya.
When ChopperHatGirl said she had seen the viral footage "on Twitter," the streamer got up and yelled in annoyance. Anya quickly clarified that she was "just kidding" after the outburst, so the rage was short-lived.
What did IShowSpeed allegedly write in the “leaked” Instagram DMs?
IShowSpeed took to Instagram after their live ended and introduced himself to "ChopperHatGirl" as “Speed from the live”.
The nature of conversations grew to become intimate, and Speed asked:
"When can I take you out?"
Anya replied:
"Whenever you want... I'll make time for you."
The streamer then replied:
"I'm bricked ASF NGL, you wanna see?"
Anya replied, and Speed responded to it:
"Take it slow, baby."
In Speed fashion, the YouTuber responded with how he is literally IShowSpeed and is incapable of it. The screenshots of this conversation from the live broadcast that dates back to 2023 are being circulated online without context.

The IShowSpeed Instagram DM story demonstrates how old content can spark new drama when taken out of context. The messages were never hacked or leaked; they were shared by Speed in the livestream.
