Sydney Towle, a 25-year-old TikTok creator, recently shared a new video about her fight with bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). She was first diagnosed at age 23. On June 17, 2025, Towle posted a tearful update on TikTok. She revealed that her latest medical visit did not go well.

“This is the first time I've gone in and they've told me, 'This isn't good.' It's definitely not the news you want to receive when facing cancer”

In her update, Towle talked about her upcoming surgery, struggles to stay positive, and the toll cancer has taken on her life. Her honest posts have touched many people online. She continues to share her experiences to raise awareness and connect with others going through similar battles.

What treatment will Sydney Towle undergo next?

Sydney Towle shared that she will soon have a hepatic pump implanted. This device will deliver chemotherapy directly to her liver. The procedure is part of an experimental treatment plan.

“It’s experimental,” she explained. “I’m having surgery on June 30. They will implant the hepatic pump. I will be in the hospital for four to five days”

Towle said the treatment offers hope, but also comes with risks and uncertainty. She also said the surgery forced her to cancel personal plans.

“I had planned a trip for June 30, which I've now canceled. I hope to take that trip someday,” she said

How is Sydney Towle coping with the emotional toll of cancer?

Sydney Towle admitted that staying positive has become more difficult.

“People say, ‘Don’t lose your attitude.’ I’m trying my best not to, but there’s only so much you can endure,” she said while holding back tears

She also spoke about how it feels to face cancer at such a young age. Towle said it is hard to watch her friends live normal lives while she is in treatment.

“One of the hardest aspects of this situation is being young. Seeing my friends enjoy dinners or simply live their lives while I struggled to leave the house some days was incredibly tough. Chemotherapy alters your sense of self—your body changes, you feel exhausted constantly, and everything seems out of balance. It felt as though my life was paused while everyone else continued on”

Towle also shared that it is challenging to manage both her emotions and her physical health at the same time.
