Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to four years and two months in federal prison after being found guilty on two charges related to the transportation of individuals for prostitution. The charges fall under the Mann Act, which makes it illegal to transport anyone across state lines for immoral or sexual purposes. Along with the prison term, Diddy was fined $500,000 and will face five years of supervised release after completing his sentence.

The sentencing marks the end of a long and highly publicized case that involved disturbing allegations of abuse, exploitation, and misconduct. The trial included testimonies from several of Diddy’s ex-girlfriends and associates who described years of manipulation and drug-fueled sexual encounters. Although he was acquitted of the more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, the court found enough evidence to convict him on the two transportation-related counts.

His legal team said they plan to appeal the conviction. They maintain that he did not commit any crime involving trafficking or organized criminal activity. The prosecution, however, argued that his actions over many years showed a pattern of deliberate exploitation and disregard for the law.

On October 3, 2025, according to Reuters, Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of 2 federal counts of illegally transporting people across state lines to engage in prostitution. These are said to have happened repeatedly during a span of years, and in most cases, his girlfriends and male escorts were involved. The prosecution called such events, Freak Offs, claiming they were drug-related engagements arranged and financed by Diddy.

He reportedly paid for flights, hotels, and drugs used at these secret parties, as per court reports. According to the prosecutors, his domination of travel and payment was a violation of the Mann Act. Even though the court dismissed the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, it declared that the evidence was enough to show that he was aware of helping to transport people to engage in sexual acts.

The testimonies of previous partners, such as the singer Cassie Ventura, were instrumental in setting the time of events. Ventura explained how she was abused and coerced over a few years. Her testimony, along with that of the other women, helped the jury conclude that his actions were both deliberate and ongoing.

According to BBC News on October 3, 2025, the case began in March 2024, when federal agents raided multiple homes in Los Angeles and Miami belonging to him. Electronic devices, drugs, and weapons, all thought to have been used in relation to his criminal acts, were stolen by investigators. The case was investigated over several months, and formal charges were subsequently filed.

Several witnesses and victims testified in court during the trial. A lot of people talked about being forced to go out to personal parties where they took drugs and had sex. There were also accounts that he threatened and intimidated others to keep them in control. The defense team also presented the case that the relationship was consensual and that Diddy had already been remorseful due to his 13 months in pretrial detention.

During sentencing, the prosecutors had requested a sentence of more than 11 years in prison because of the gravity of the crimes. The defense requested a 14-month sentence, arguing that he had begun taking meaningful steps toward rehabilitation. The judge finally imposed four years and two months on him, but observed that his actions over the years could not be overlooked, despite Diddy showing remorse.
