In Episode 141 of Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, released on June 17, Savannah talked about the rumors surrounding Julie Chrisley's breast cancer diagnosis.

The podcast started on a calm note with Savannah saying:

"I feel like it's been a long time since we've done a solo podcast. And there's just so many things to catch you up on. So I'm gonna try to go about it in the best way possible."

However, before diving into her life updates, Savannah said she wanted to address something first. While getting her morning coffee and scrolling through social media, she came across a comment. Remembering the comment, Savannah said:

"I saw where someone commented that, you know, my family was this fraud and we're terrible human beings, X Y Z, and how my mother faked her breast cancer diagnosis."

She continued,

"So I was literally dumbfounded to see the accusations that were being made. Apparently, she faked her breast cancer diagnosis to avoid court proceedings, was what this individual said. And let's take it back. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. They weren't federally or criminally charged till 2019. So that right there completely debunks your whole theory."

Todd and Julie Chrisley were later found guilty of cheating banks and tax evasion in 2022. The couple was granted presidential pardons in May 2025.

Savannah Chrisley shares how Julie found out about her breast cancer

In a 2018 interview with The Tennessean, Julie Chrisley shared that after Todd told her to get a mammogram, she went ahead with it, even though she was only 39 and had no family history of breast cancer. Julie stated:

"I did it to appease him (Todd Chrisley) so he would shut up and leave me alone"

After clearing up the rumors about Julie Chrisley’s breast cancer diagnosis, Savannah shared how they found out about it and what steps they took next. She said:

"She went to Northside Hospital in Atlanta. She had the biopsy done. And then my dad was like, "No, I have to make sure she has the best care possible." That's when we went to Johns Hopkins in Maryland, I believe, and they said, "Hold on, you have two spots, not just one."

According to Savannah Chrisley, Julie was given the options of lumpectomy and mastectomy. She decided to have a double mastectomy to lower the chances of the cancer coming back. Later, she also had a full hysterectomy, as her cancer was driven by estrogen.

Savannah Chrisley further added in her podcast,

"She (Julie Chrisley) had two or three reconstructive surgeries. She slept in a recliner for what I feel like was probably a year beside their bed with my dad because she couldn't stand to lay all the way down. So, for someone to make an accusation that my mother lied about having breast cancer at the age of 39, there truly is a special place in hell for you."
