Taylor Swift scored a legal win with a five-year restraining order against an alleged stalker named Brian Jason Wagner.

According to TMZ, the court has ordered him to keep a 100-yard distance from Swift’s car, home, and workplace for the next five years and is also not allowed to contact Taylor Swift in any way for her safety and privacy.

While he must stay away from Swift, the court has also prohibited Wagner from possessing any weapons, since having them could increase the risk to the singer’s safety.

This ruling comes as a relief for Taylor Swift and her fans, offering peace of mind after a worrying period.

Who is Taylor Swift's stalker, Brian Jason Wagner?

Brian Jason Wagner is a 45-year-old man, originally from Colorado. In addition to stalking Swift and trying to break into her house, he has also falsely claimed in the past that he and Taylor Swift have a child together.

Swift also tried reaching him via phone and text to notify him about the upcoming hearing, scheduled for September 22. In a court statement, Brooke Berg, who was hired to track Wagner, stated the following:

"As of the date of this declaration, Respondent has not responded to the September 15, 2025 phone call or text messages."

As a result, Swift continues to remain under tight security, with her team closely monitoring any potential risks to keep her safe.

An insider, reported by Radar, stated that:

"Her team has to be hyper vigilant because she has been stalked so many times and recently discovered she has been targeted by Groyper [alt-right] groups on social media. She will change promotional plans or scale back if any threats she has received online are deemed to be serious by her security team. It's horrible."

As of now, Berg’s efforts to reach Wagner have failed, and he is believed to be either moving or hiding, with no trace of him at his listed address.

Taylor Swift is also releasing her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3. Being one of the biggest names in the music industry, the singer is taking extra precautions to keep her safety and privacy during the release period.

The singer had previously obtained a temporary restraining order against Wagner before the court granted the five-year protection.
