Erin and Ben Napier joined People magazine for its PEOPLE in 10 video. The couple shared some parenting tips and revealed that their schools are being homeschooled. The twist- they are the teachers.

Erin and Ben are parents of two children, 4-year-old May and 7-year-old Helen. The family of four moved to Scotland this year, and they've been enjoying taking life at a slower pace.

“The 2025 is when we did the doing. That was the we can do hard things year,” Erin said.
“We went to Scotland,” Ben shared as Erin added, “Yes! That was a big fear for me. Crossing the ocean.”

The couple discussed homeschooling.

“We started homeschooling the kids. And we’re doing it. Every time when we say it, people are like, ‘Oh, did you hire a tutor?’ And we’re like, ‘No, we’re the tutors,’” Ben told the news outlet.

During the exclusive interview, Erin revealed that they are not planning to stop homeschooling any time soon and that it is a non-negotiable for their family.

“Homeschooling. It’s not a non-negotiable, it’s what we’re trying this year.”

She told the publication that her two daughters have never used phones, tablets, or iPads.

“They’ve never had devices, they’ve never held phones or tablets or iPads. We’re trying to live like it’s our childhood again.”

In September, the HGTV couple joined Today for an exclusive interview where they discussed parenting. Erin and Ben Napier revealed that they weren't big on extravagant birthday celebrations. They’d rather organize a small and intimate celebration.

“Our rule is, until they’re old enough to plan it themselves, it’s supper at grandparents,” Ben told the publication.

Erin agreed with him staying:

“If your 4-year-old’s birthday party looks like a wedding, what do they have to look forward to? Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I think there’s a lot of moms out there who feel the same way I do.”

Ben Napier recalled his childhood and how he celebrated his birthday with only his siblings and their mum’s famous homemade cake.

“And it was awesome,” he said.
