The online feud between President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk started over the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The bill is a big tax and spending plan suggested by President Donald Trump that focuses on tax cuts, border security, and the military.
Musk disliked the bill because it reduces government support for electric vehicles, which affects Tesla. He wrote on X on June 3, 2025:
"I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."
On June 4, Elon added another tweet on X that read:
"It more than defeats all the cost savings achieved by the @DOGE team at great personal cost and risk."
As per Musk’s statement, the bill wastes money and cancels out the savings his team worked hard to achieve.
Donald Trump shares Elon Musk’s post about leaving government on Truth Social
Hours after Elon Musk criticized the bill, President Donald Trump uploaded a new post on Truth Social about Musk leaving the government. The text in Musk's tweet read:
"As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending."

Musk took to social media on June 5 to share old posts by Donald Trump, where Trump had criticized Republican lawmakers for raising the debt ceiling. Musk added “wise words” in agreement. In another repost, Trump had said:
"No member of Congress should be eligible for re-election if our country's budget is not balanced---deficits not allowed!"
To this, Musk replied:
“I couldn’t agree more.”
The same day, Trump's video surfaced online in which he was seen saying:
"Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore."
The statement from Trump confirmed growing tension between the two after the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
In another video of Donald Trump, he stated that Elon Musk already knew about the bill and its inner workings. Additionally, he added that Musk didn't have anything against the bill until he came to know that the EV mandate would get cut, after which the problem started. As per Trump, the EV mandate will cost billions. Elon replied to this statement on his X through the statement:
"False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!"
In another tweet, he wrote:
"Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate."
The big statement from Elon Musk claiming that Trump wouldn’t have won without his support is now going viral on social media.
The online feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk continues to grow. In a recent tweet, Musk directly claimed that Trump is involved in the Epstein files and stated that this is the reason the related tapes were never released, leading to a fresh wave of controversy online.
