Singer D4vd was targeted by a swatting call days after a teen’s body was found in his Tesla.

Swatting is the act of making a false emergency call to authorities, reporting a serious situation at someone’s address. The intent is to prompt a SWAT team response.

According to the United States Department of Homeland Security, swatting:

"Typically involves claims of violent crimes such as active shooters, bomb threats, or hostage situations. Can target individuals, businesses, government officials, schools, faith-based institutions, and even federal facilities. Is illegal and carries serious legal consequences for perpetrators."

According to AllHipHop, somebody made a swatting call at D4vd’s house on September 18, falsely claiming gunfire and a possible threat, prompting authorities to respond. Authorities did not detain anyone after the incident.

What happened after police arrived at D4vd's house?

According to TMZ, the singer’s parents answered the door when police arrived after the fake call. Officers were also told that a woman’s scream had been heard. D4vd's mother told the police:

"It's just me and my daughter, the only females here. She's 8."

She informed police that both her daughter and son were upstairs, but she did not disclose their names, keeping their identities private on the recording. Authorities stayed at the residence for roughly 20 minutes before declaring the call a swatting.

D4vd's upcoming deluxe album, Withered, is on hold

The deluxe version of his 2025 album, Withered, is also kept on hold after the body of a teen girl was found in the singer's car. The album, Withered, consists of fifteen songs with the track names:

The album also contains two bonus tracks titled "Unrequited" and "Where Did You Go?"

The artist was scheduled to release the deluxe version of the album this month, but it has been paused due to ongoing investigations. It is not confirmed when or if it will be released, as the case is ongoing and updates continue to emerge frequently.

He also canceled the scheduled performances on his US and European tours, which were originally set to conclude on November 4, due to the ongoing investigations and uncertainty surrounding the situation.
