Kansas Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has broken the silence after his engagement to pop icon Taylor Swift. The 35-year-old professional American footballer gave tips to anyone listening for relationship advice. On the September 3 episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis emphasized the importance of knowing your significant other.
“You got to know your gal. You got to know your gal or your significant other. You got to know them. You can't let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way.”
He added:
“Know your partner, know who you're doing it for and do it for the right reasons. Everything else will be beautiful.”
Still talking to his brother on the podcast, Travis Kelce spoke about how excited he felt to introduce Taylor Swift as his fiancée.
“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something, and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on. It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with...It’s been awesome.”
He added:
“It was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates. So yeah, it was pretty cool…I still get giddy, it’s exciting times.”

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have taken their relationship to the next level. On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Taylor and Travis announced their engagement via a joint Instagram post. The post included a carousel of photos capturing the couple’s engagement event.
