Hoody Baby is the stage name of Omololu Omari Akinlolu, a 38‑year‑old rapper and producer from the United States. As per the reports by Reuters, he is being tried alongside Chris Brown in London. He is accused of using a bottle to hurt a music producer in a nightclub in February 2023. As of July 11, 2025, he has pleaded not guilty.

He first appeared in court on May 17, 2025, in Manchester. He was charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. This came one day after Chris Brown was arrested. He later appeared again and pleaded not guilty in June and July 2025.


Hoody Baby's early life and music career

Hoody Baby was born in 1987 in Dallas, Texas. His real name is Omololu Omari Akinlolu. He started making music under several names, including Big Hood Boss, when he was young. Early in his career, he worked with local artists like Lil Ronnie and Tum Tum. In his 20s, he was shot and spent months in the hospital. That event made him rethink his life. He decided to focus on music instead of street life.

As per the reports by Hot News Hip Hop, in 2015, Hoody Baby signed with Young Money Entertainment, a label led by Lil Wayne. He also had a deal with Warner/Chappell Music as a producer. He became friends with Chris Brown early on. They met when Hoody Baby played basketball in New York as a teen. Later, he joined Brown’s circle in Los Angeles.

He often appeared with Chris Brown on stage and in meetings. He has also worked closely with Lil Wayne. In 2017, he released a mixtape called Kitchen 24: Slangin’ Off Key. The tape had features from big names like Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Quavo, and Lil Wayne.


Hoody Baby's Persona and creative side

Hoody Baby uses different stage names and characters. He calls himself Hoody Baby when he's cool. He uses Fat Leopard for emotional themes. He also uses the name Super Hood for a tougher character. These names let him show different sides of his artistry. His work is not just rap. He is also a songwriter and producer.


Legal issues and the London case

The reports by Reuters state that on February 19, 2023, in London’s Tape nightclub, a music producer named Abe Diaw was hit over the head with a bottle. Then he was punched and kicked, according to court papers. CCTV cameras filmed it. Hoody Baby and Chris Brown are accused of this attack. They are both charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

On May 17, 2025, police charged Akinlolu with GBH intent. He first appeared in Manchester Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty. In June 2025, at Southwark Crown Court in London, he again pleaded not guilty, along with Brown. He returned on July 11 to face extra charges of assault causing bodily harm and carrying a bottle as a weapon. Hoody Baby is free on bail, like Brown. They both must follow court rules until their trial.

As per the reports by ABC News, the trial is set for October 26, 2026, at Southwark Crown Court, and could last five to seven days. Evidence like CCTV video, witness statements, and medical reports will be shown in court. If Akinlolu is found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent, he could face many years in prison, up to a maximum of life imprisonment under UK law.
