Halle Bailey has accused her ex-partner, DDG, of infidelity during their ongoing and highly public custody battle over their 16-month-old son, Halo.

The situation arose when leaked text messages between Bailey and DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., surfaced online. The alleged texts showed Bailey threatening self-harm and directly accusing DDG of having a s*xual encounter with Lala Baptiste in Mexico.

According to Legit, Baptiste is a social media influencer and an Instagram model. She has over 1 million views on her Instagram handle. She is also a lifestyle and travel vlogger and often shares travelling videos on YouTube and her social media accounts. According to Complex, she has also collaborated with DDG for content.

Recently, DDG has filed a restraining order against Halle Bailey, asking the court to prevent her from taking their son out of the country for work, citing concerns over her mental stability. Here is what we know.

DDG files restraining order against Halle Bailey, a month after she got one against him

According to a report in the USA Today, DDG has filed for a domestic violence restraining order against his former partner, Halle Bailey, on June 4, 2025.

This comes only a month after Bailey was granted a temporary restraining order against him. The filing was made as a part of Bailey’s restraining order against DDG that was initiated in May 2025.

He has now asked the judge to prohibit the Little Mermaid actress from travelling alone with their son, Halo.

In the filing, he alleged that Bailey poses,

An “imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child based on repeated, documented threats of self-harm.” He further claimed that if Halo were to leave the country, he would be without the Court protection and any "emergency intervention mechanisms."

Earlier in May, the court reportedly granted Halle Bailey temporary physical and legal custody of her child after she alleged that the rapper had abused her physically and emotionally. Now the 27-year-old streamer has claimed that he is the one who needs protection.

He claimed that Bailey allegedly tried to inflict harm on him by reportedly punching and slapping him. He also said that she threatened to take her own life during jealous outbursts between the couple, as a report in Billboard indicated. She also allegedly threatened him with a knife and a gun. DDG wrote in the court filing:

“In or about August 2023, during a particularly volatile argument, petitioner became enraged and threatened to end her life using my legally owned firearm. Without my consent, she took the weapon and left the house.”

He added:

“This incident was one of several in which petitioner’s actions posed a serious threat to her own safety and the safety of our son by creating an environment of emotional distress and danger within the home.”

The texts have created significant buzz on social media as people are discussing the mental health of Bailey, with many users expressing concern over her well-being and referencing postpartum struggles and the pressures of celebrity life. At the same time, they have also questioned the credibility of these messages.

According to Billboard, the judge overseeing their case will soon issue an order on whether Bailey can travel with their son. The next hearing is scheduled to take place on June 24, 2025.
