The American Idol music supervisor, Robin Kaye, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were both found dead at their Encino, Los Angeles home during a welfare check conducted by LAPD on Monday, July 14, 2025, according to The New York Post.

As per reports, the couple was tragically shot and their bodies were found on Monday, July 14, at 2:30 PM after they had not been heard from for four days. Robin Kaye was a well-known figure in the music industry. She was the music supervisor for the hit show American Idol from 2009 to 2023.

As an insider on the show, she was known to help contestants with music prep. Robin and her husband were 70 at the time of their death.

As per reports from NBC Los Angeles, the body of Kaye was found in the pantry, and the body of Thomas was found in the bathroom of their $4.5 million Los Angeles home.

The case is being investigated by the detectives from the Valley Bureau Homicide Division, and the spokesperson for the LAPD has said that no motive has been determined yet. As per TMZ, the police have found no signs of foul play, and the home has not been ransacked. When the cops arrived at the spot to investigate, they found blood at the front door.

According to reports, the neighbours saw a person hopping off the fence and had called the cops. The cops had arrived and found no signs of forced entry, checked the place, and returned. This incident took place on Thursday, July 10, 2025; however, it's unclear if it is related to the double homicide.

Other than working for American Idol, Kaye also worked and supervised music for shows like Lip Sync Battle, Miss Universe, Miss USA, and the NAACP Image Awards. She was also honoured with several Guild of Music Supervisors Award nominations, winning consecutively from 2012–2014 for reality TV work on American Idol.

As of now, the investigation is ongoing.
