Voddie Baucham was married to Bridget Linette Baucham for almost four decades. They met in college and got married 36 years ago, in 1989. They have nine children together, including Jasmine, Trey (Voddie, III), Elijah, Asher, Judah, Micah, Safya, Amos, and Simeon. Voddie is now survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Baucham was a huge believer in homeschooling. He and his wife together brought up their children, teaching them at home. Bridget was also a huge supporter of her husband when he was preaching about Biblical family dynamics and was often seen alongside him during his sermons.

Voddie Baucham and his family have lived in Zambia for almost a decade, since 2015. However, after moving back to the U.S. last year in December, Voddie passed away after "suffering an emergency medical incident".

Why is Voddie Baucham "less hopeful" about today's society?

Voddie Baucham spoke to Christian Post a year ago. They discussed numerous topics, ranging from Christian nationalism to the rise of "sexual minorities" in the political sphere.

Voddie shared his views by saying:

"I always have hope, because I belong to Christ... The Kingdom of God is undefeated. And not only is the Kingdom of God undefeated, it's undefeatable. So, I'm not worried about that."

He continued to elaborate:

"However, when I start thinking about our culture, when I start thinking about our society, I'm a lot less hopeful in that regard, because we've seen this movie before... We've seen it with all of the great civilizations in world history — how they were born, how they ascended to greatness, and then how they decayed internally, morally, and eventually met their demise."

He concluded by saying:

"And it's terrible to come to the realization that we're on that trajectory. So from that standpoint, it's not very hopeful... And I believe that the only hope that we have is awakening and revival, some kind of supernatural spiritual intervention. Beyond that, we're toast."

Voddie Baucham passed away on Thursday, according to the announcement made by Founders Ministries. They wrote asking fellow believers to keep Baucham's family in their prayers while they are navigating a difficult time:

"We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living. Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student. Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren."
