Controversial online personality Andrew Tate has never shied away from expressing his dislike of GTA 6. On Monday, January 7, 2025, the social media personality took to his X account to ridicule die-hard fans of the game.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 has been in the works for more than a decade, and naturally, the announcement of the official release date has caused a stir amongst gamers. Andrew Tate, not impressed with the online chatter about the games, tweeted that anyone obsessed with GTA 6 was probably missing out on real-life enjoyment:

“You're obsessed with GTA 6 because you have zero cars, women, yachts, money, or action in your life.”

In January 2024, Andrew Tate stated that GTA 6 achievements won’t matter to the future generation as they would be more concerned about their ancestors’ material possessions:

"Your children and grandchildren won't care about your video game accomplishments. When they are a brokie in a society with ZERO social mobility. A brokie inside a truly hardened system where every dollar is digital, and you cannot move without having a permit. They won't want to hear about how good you were at video games."

Before that, the former professional kickboxer and his brother Tristan Tate released a video right after the first trailer of GTA 6 was released in December 2023, mocking the hype around it.

Grand Theft Auto 6 follows the 2013 Grand Theft Auto V from the GTA franchise. The game’s release date was originally scheduled for Q4 of 2025 but has been shifted to May 6, 2026.

The change in the game’s premiere date was announced via a press release on Rockstar Games’ official social media pages.

The statement read:

“Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on May 26, 2026. We are sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto have been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and patience as we work to finish the game.”

Addressing the need to exceed the expectations of GTA fans, the New York-based video game publisher further went on to explain the reason behind the postponement.

“With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try to exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the quality you expect and deserve.”

After a nearly two-year interval since the release of the first trailer, the second trailer was dropped on May 6, 2026, on Rockstar Games' YouTube channel, which has garnered over eighty million views at the time of writing this article. The recently released trailer shares more insight into the gameplay and characters.

The game’s storyline revolves around protagonists Jason and Lucia in the mythical Vice City. Ex-soldier Jason Duval finds himself involved in a series of criminal activities despite efforts to live an exemplary life. Jason and his love interest Lucia become roped in a conspiracy after "an easy score goes wrong.
