9-1-1: Nashville has released its first official trailer, which is bound to leave the audience excited about the upcoming 9-1-1 spin-off. The procedural drama marks the third series in the franchise and is set in the titular city, where a father and son duo lead a firehouse.
Though the trailer does not feature any footage from the show, it establishes a musical theme, keeping up with Nashville’s title of Music City. The show will premiere on ABC and Hulu in the fall of 2025.
9-1-1: Nashville is going to star Chris O'Donnell in the lead role of Captain Don Sharpe. He is joined by the likes of Jessica Capshaw, Hailey Kilgore, and Michael Provost. Here is all you need to know about the first trailer of the series.
ABC releases the first trailer of 9-1-1: Nashville
On June 16, 2025, ABC launched the first glimpse of 9-1-1: Nashville. The trailer uses animation to introduce the audience to the world of the series. The footage begins with an emergency vehicle heading to Nashville, where a number of fires have broken out.
Set to the song Ring of Fire by legendary singer Johnny Cash, the action-packed video teases how music will be an integral part of the show, which will also differentiate it from other procedural dramas. Meanwhile, the trailer displays the names of the main cast members, which are carved on the display boards at various buildings in the city.
The actors whose names have been mentioned include Chris O'Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. O'Donnell is going to play veteran firefighter and former rodeo rider Captain Don Sharpe. Capshaw will star as his wife, Blythe Ward. Rimes will play the mother of a firefighter named Blue, and Williams-Paisley has been cast in an undisclosed role.
The rest of the cast includes Michael Provost as Ryan Sharpe, Don's son who also works as a firefighter; Hailey Kilgore as Taylor, a singer-cum-firefighter; Juani Feliz as Roxie, a trauma surgeon turned firefighter; and Hunter McVey as Blue.
9-1-1: Nashville was announced by ABC in February 2025, soon after the cancellation of 9-1-1: Lone Star, which aired five seasons between 2020 and 2025. Meanwhile, the mothership 9-1-1 series has already been renewed for a ninth season.
The upcoming spin-off has been created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani. The three also serve as executive producers on the project along with Brad Falchuk, Angela Bassett, Chris O'Donnell, and Bradley Buecker. Minear talked about why the show is set against the backdrop of Nashville in an interview with TV Line and said:
“There were a lot of possibilities that had been talked about. One, I think that it’s a really interesting city with its own personality. It’s very unlike Austin.”
We did kind of a red state 9-1-1 [with Lone Star], but Austin is a very blue town. Nashville felt even a little bit more Southern. It also has the country music industry, and it just felt like it could be a fun place to set a piece of the franchise.”
9-1-1: Nashville will debut on ABC in the fall of 2025 and will air new episodes on Thursdays.
