"A great beautiful voice": America's Got Talent judge Mel B applauds Anna Wilson's secretly signed-up performance

One of the auditions featured on America's Got Talent Season 20 Episode 7 saw Anna Wilson. It was even more exciting because she was secretly signed up by her mom. She had no clue that she would be performing in the talent show.

"Well, first of all, I want to commend you because you were put in a tricky situation, right? You were in the audience thinking you were just having a VIP experience for America's Got Talent."

The latest America's Got Talent Season 20 episode saw an exciting twist involving a mother and a daughter. At first, Anna's mom, Carrie, arrived on stage and revealed that she was there to "surprise" her daughter, Anna.

Sitting in the audience, Anna was stunned. When the judges asked, Anna stood up from the audience, with tears in her eyes.

"She thinks we're here for a VIP experience in the audience, but I nominated Anna to audition here today," revealed Anna's mom.

Anna was still emotional, sobbing in the audience. Witnessing that, the audience cheered for Anna and encouraged her to join her mom on stage. As she walked up to the stage, Mel B and Sophia talked about what they'd do if their mom had signed them up for such an audition.

As the judges were curious, they asked Carrie to share about Anna, her love for music, and singing. Seeing how emotional Anna was, the judges gave her some time, after which she performed.

Her first performance was Make You Feel My Love. But Simon felt that it was "boring" and asked for another song. She then sang My Church by Maren Morris.

America's Got Talent judge Sophia said Anna's performance was beautiful:

"That was beautiful. Simon always is right. I know it was like nerve-wracking to be stopped in the middle of a song, but usually when he does that, it's because he knows there's potential, and you definitely, definitely have potential."

Mel B said even though Anna was put in a "tricky" situation, she had a "great beautiful" voice. However, then she mentioned:

"And I think a few more years you'll be able to walk on this stage and smash it. But today, I wasn't really feeling it. I'm sorry."

Listening to the last part of Mel B's comments, the audience booed her. However, soon, Howie Mandel shared his thoughts:

"I see that you're worthy of being on season 20. You have a beautiful voice, and this is a great audition."

Further, Simon said they would be voting for Anna. With three yeses from Simon, Howie, and Sophia, and one no from Mel B., Anna advanced to the next stage of America's Got Talent Season 20.

Simon noted that most people, when put in such a position, would have "run." But Anna was willing to take the challenge, which showed that she had the "guts." Simon added that he "really, really" liked her. With his yes, show host Terry Crews, Anna's mom, and the audience - everyone cheered even louder for Anna.
