Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is in full swing, with a four-year time jump reshaping the characters and relationships. Everyone has experienced changes in their lives, notably Conrad Fisher.

Conrad couldn't handle his relationship with Belly, and now she has been dating his brother, Jeremiah Fisher, since Season 2. However, this time we are not talking about the trio and their dynamics, but a new face in Season 3, who is winning hearts: Agnes.

Played by actress Zoé de Grand’Maison, Agnes in Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is quite different from Jenny Han's third book. In the TV series, she is one of the people whom Conrad opens up to about Belly, but in the book, she is just a college fling.

This means that Agnes plays a bigger role in Conrad's life in Season 3. She not only comforts him, but is also there when Conrad gets fired by Dr. Namazy and looks for a new job.

Every TV series has supporting characters who steal hearts, and in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, it's Agnes. She is introduced in the first episode of the last chapter and, since then, she has been seen supporting Conrad Fisher in his journey.

Conrad is seeking help from a therapist, but it looks like Agnes is the one who understands him better. The two share a simple yet close bond, with Agnes often making jokes and helping out Conrad whenever he needs someone, while staying away from his family in California.

However, Agnes isn't the same in Jenny Han's We'll Always Have Summer. In the book, she is just a background character who was once involved with the older Fisher in college. After that, Agnes isn't discussed much. In simple words, Agnes is a short-lived fling in the third and final book.

In the series, Agnes is a key character who deepens the audience’s understanding of Conrad’s character. As seen in the premiere, he admits to being in love once and reveals Belly's name.

Conrad even shared his uneasiness about attending his mother's remembrance ceremony, knowing he would have to face Belly and others. He is still in the process of healing, and Belly remains in his heart.

Agnes understands this. Through her, fans gain a deeper understanding of what Conrad truly feels. He has received significant support and comfort from Agnes, who has continued to stay in touch while he has been in Cousins Beach recently.

What Zoé de Grand’Maison says about playing Agnes in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3

Zoé de Grand’Maison felt incredibly happy to play Agnes in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, and revealed that Jenny Han encouraged her as they planned to "expand the character" and explore Agnes and Conrad's friendship in a way that's not present in the book.

The actress said in an interview with Teen Vogue:

"I feel like my character's purpose is that I finally give the audience a chance to get into Conrad's head, because she's able to open him up and pull these things out of him."

She continued:

"I see her as a bit of an unpaid therapist. He has an actual therapist, but…"

Zoé de Grand’Maison explained that Agnes is a character with "less filter." She even mentioned that Agnes created a "very non-judgmental environment" for Conrad, who knows that she can tease him at times, but will also be there for him when he feels low or wants to share something.
