America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys is set to premiere on August 19, 2025. Upcoming Netflix sports series features Jerry Jones, who bought the Dallas Cowboys for $140 million in February 1989, and the events that followed.
Directed by Champan and Maclain Way from Untold and Wild Wild Country, the sports series will have eight episodes. Along with Jerry Jones, fans will also witness Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Troy Aikman, and more. The first look at the upcoming series features unseen interviews and footage from iconic incidents.

For the upcoming America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys series, Netflix is all set to premiere all eight episodes on August 19, 2025. Starring Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones, along with many notable names, the docuseries started from:
"It's the night of Jan. 30, 1994. The Georgia Dome is electric. Confetti drifts through the air as Jimmy Johnson, trophy in hand, grins beside Jerry Jones. The two college teammates turned NFL power duo have just led the Cowboys to their second straight Super Bowl. Two months later, they had a tumultuous split," describes Netflix.

For the viewers who might not be aware, Jerry and Jimmy were college teammates. Later, the two teamed up and became an "NFL power duo." With the two together, their team won two back-to-back Super Bowls. However, there was a "tumultuous" split between the two following an NFL meeting.
Netflix also released a first look on August 19, 2025. It shows a glimpse of the infamous NFL meeting. With many notable names and personalities attending the meeting, the media were also present.
When Jerry Jones raised a toast, everyone did the same, except for Jimmy. Noticing the tension, two reporters from the Dallas Morning News, Ed Werder and Rick Gosselin, got stopped by Jerry. He told them to stay for the "story of the year." When asked about it, Jerry said that he was going to fire Jimmy.
Netflix referred to the team as a "cultural phenomenon."
