And Just Like That Season 3 recently featured an unexpected cameo that has sent fans into a frenzy. The penultimate episode of the season, titled Present Tense, brought back radio and talk show host Andy Cohen as a shoe salesman, a character he originated in Sex and the City.

Andy returned to the franchise after more than 20 years, as he debuted the role back in 2004. However, this time around, he has finally gotten a name and some dialogue, unlike his previous appearance in the franchise.

In And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 9, Andy stars as Daniel, a salesman at a shoe store that Carrie visits after a fight with her boyfriend Aidan. Fans are excited to see him on the show and are expressing their happiness on social media.

And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 9 was aired on July 24, 2025, and ever since, social media is abuzz with reactions from fans who were surprised to see the talk show host reprising his role as Daniel from Sex and the City.

One fan wrote on X:

Another penned:

“As SOON as I saw her on that shoe store I was hoping @andy would make a cameo! So glad he did!!”

One fan labeled it as the best episode of the season and posted:

Andy Cohen first appeared in Sex and the City in Season 6, Episode 13, Let There Be Light. He was seen at a Barney's store where Carrie Bradshaw went to buy a pair of heels before a date. The cameo was brief, but impactful, and left a mark on the audience as Andy Cohen and Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie, are close friends in real life.

Then, 21 years later, Carrie went to a shoe store, this time at Bergdorf's, where she once again found Daniel, who seemed busy as he walked around with shoeboxes. Daniel told Carrie:

“Hey Carrie! I am slammed, but I'm going to be right with you.”

Carrie replied:

“Oh, thanks. I'm just looking today, Daniel.”

Following the release of the episode on HBO Max, Andy took to Instagram to celebrate his return to the franchise. He posted pictures from his first appearance on Sex and the City and his recent appearance on And Just Like That and wrote:

“How it went… how it’s going! thank you Michael Patrick King for bringing back the BELOVED character of “Barney’s Shoe Salesman”… who is now a Bergdorf’s Shoe salesman named DANIEL!”

And Just Like That Season 3 airs new episodes on HBO Max on Thursdays.
