Andor Season 2, the prequel series to Cassian's journey of becoming the hero in Star Wars: Rogue One finally concluded with the last set of episodes.

There were many mysteries surrounding the fates of different characters, especially Luthen and Dedra, who do not appear in the 2016 film. The final episodes explain their tragic fates and conclude their stories.

We also learn about the origins of the Death Star and how the Rebel army came to discover the most dangerous Imperial weapon.

While Mon Mothma was largely absent from the final arc, we see her husband wasted and with another woman in the back of a cab, suggesting that her decision to join the Rebel army negatively affected her family and personal life.

Here is Andor Season 2 ending explained.

Andor Season 2 final arc reveals the origins of the Death Star

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding Rogue One was the origins of the Death Star and how Cassian and the Rebel Alliance learned about its existence. The Death Star is the Empire's ultimate weapon, a massive space station that can destroy multiple planets. The first scene in Rogue One directly mentions this Imperial weapon when Cassian meets an informant named Tivik.

Andor Season 2 finally explains that Luthen first heard about the Death Star from his long-term Imperial contact, Lonni Jung. He reveals that all the recent events, like the Ghorman massacre, mining on Jedha and the search for Kydher, are actually to build a dangerous weapon for the Empire.

Jung secretly got access to Dedra's files and got this information. After Luthen kills Jung (because he was a dangerous loose thread), he relays this information to Kleya, which then passes on to Cassian and eventually to the whole Rebel Army.

Andor Season 2- Dedra and Luthen's fate explained

Another mystery surrounding Andor Season 2 was Dedra and Luthen's fate since neither of these characters appears in the 2016 film.

After the Ghorman massacre, Dedra became obsessed with working on the Axis file (even tho she was not authorized to), which ultimately became her doom. Her breach directly opens an interrogation against her, led by Director Orson Krennic.

When Krennic discovered that Jung and Kleya had information about the Death Star, he became suspicious of Dedra because she had access to Death Star-related files. When Krennic accused her of being a rebel spy, she pleaded that she was unaware that Jung had her clearance codes, which gave him access to the files.

However, it was too late and she was imprisoned in the Narkina prison cell, completing her story arc.

Elsewhere, Luthen was already bound for a tragic path as he became obsessed and somewhat delusional with his own version of the Rebel cause. His stubbornness and decision not to leave Coruscant made his fellow rebels distrust him.

While Luthen believes that he has friends everywhere, his growing distance within the rebel alliance is visible. Even after he discovers the truth about the Death Star and passes that on to Kleya, he is captured by Dedra.

However, before the Empire could learn about his betrayal and his secret involvement with the Rebel Alliance, Kleya tearfully kills him. She sees this as a rescue mission to stop the Empire from torturing him.

Andor Season 2 final scene suggests that Cassian's legacy lives on

While we know the tragic fate of Cassian at the end of Rogue One, the final scene in Andor Season 2 made it even more heartbreaking.

In Episode 9, Bix promises to find Cassian after the war is over, but we know the couple's love story is doomed. The final scene of Season 2 shows Bix holding a baby in the open fields. This short scene suggests that she was pregnant when she left Cassian, but he did not know her secret.

While Cassian will never learn and reunite with Bix and his baby, the scene suggests that his legacy will continue in the Star Wars universe even after his death in Rogue One.
