As mentioned, Apple TV is revealed to be working on a new limited series based on the 2006 hit rom-com film, The Holiday, which starred Hollywood big names such as Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Cameron Diaz, and Jude Law. However, the news got attention when the original creator of the film, Nancy Meyers, expressed her surprise after hearing the news.

With an Instagram story, she let everyone know that she was unaware of the remake of her film, The Holiday.

This is not the first time that Meyers responded about The Holiday on Instagram, as in 2022, she commented on the social media network about the news of the sequel of the fan-favorite film and commented,

"So many DM's about this — sorry but it's not true. ❤️"

In 2022 even Kate Winslet, who starred in the film, talked about the news with People Magazine and said,

"I read something about that, but it's the first I've heard of it. I promise you, not an agent or a representative or anyone from the first one around has had any conversation with me about that. Hand on heart, that's never come up."

More on Apple TV’s The Holiday remake

The Apple TV remake will introduce new characters in the limited series but will follow the main trope of two single British and American women swapping their houses and eventually finding love.

Sweetpea’s Krissie Ducker has been tapped in as the writer and will also executive produce the limited series, with Rob Delaney, who recently appeared in the Emmy-nominated show Dying for Sex, roped in as a consultant and writer for The Holiday remake.

In addition, Deadline also reported that the lead actresses, both in America and England, are being searched for, and the work on The Holiday remake will start after the leads for the limited series are confirmed.
