Apple TV+'s newest addition, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, has fans quite excited as the showrunners are slowly revealing the cast. While Tatiana Maslany was previously announced, now Dolly de Leon, the Philippines' very own BAFTA nominee, has joined the list of acclaimed actors.
Speaking about her addition to the cast, de Leon said, according to The Manila Times:
"There’s nothing like the prospect of working with people whose work you admire — Hunters, Orphan Black, The Marvel Cinematic Universe! I’m beyond excited!"
Dolly de Leon has most recently been seen in Hulu's Nine Perfect Strangers, where she turned in a stellar performance as Agnes, a former nun working opposite the likes of Nicole Kidman, Henry Golding, and others.
Other notable work by Dolly de Leon includes her roles in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Triangle of Sadness (2022), Ghostlight (2024), and The Cradle of Brave (2024), among others.
Jake Johnson joins the cast
Apple TV+'s new comedy thriller follows the story of Paula, a freshly divorced mother who slowly falls into a whirlwind of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer. While Tatiana Maslany will play the role of Paula, Dolly de Leon has been cast in the role of Detective Sofiana Gonzalez and will appear as a series regular on the show.
Aside from these two stellar actresses, another prominent cast member who has been announced is Jake Johnson, who is scheduled to play the role of Paula's ex-husband. Jake Johnson is famous for his role as Nick in the popular TV show, New Girl. Other notable works by him include his roles in Jurassic Park, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Safety Not Guaranteed, among others.
According to Apple TV+, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is scheduled for a ten-episode season, with each episode spanning a duration of half an hour. The show will be executive-produced by Simon Kinberg alongside Audrey Chon, on behalf of Genre Films.
