Chuck Lorre’s popular American sitcom, TBBT, or The Big Bang Theory, is one of the beloved comedy shows that premiered in 2007. The sitcom follows a group of nerdy best friends who navigate their lives, where they often find themselves in awkward and funny situations due to their lack of knowledge about social cues.
Some struggle with crossing a boundary when they flirt, while some struggle to even talk to the opposite gender. Among them is Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper, who is mostly known for his savage replies to not only his friends but also to the other people around him. Here’s a list of 7 times when Sheldon Cooper came back with a savage reply in The Big Bang Theory.

7 Times Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory came back with a savage reply
7) Sheldon accidentally drank water from Leonard’s glass (Season 4, Episode 23)

Sheldon and Leonard were roommates in The Big Bang Theory, and hence Leonard was bound to be on the receiving end of Sheldon’s savage replies. For instance, in the season 4 episode The Engagement Reaction, Sheldon accidentally drinks water from Leonard’s glass and panics.
The conversation after that and Sheldon’s fear of dying from germs from the glass result in a funny moment. As Leonard displays his resignation on the event that might follow, Sheldon says back:
"I’m sorry, do I really need to connect the dots for you? The backwash into this glass is every pathogen that calls your mouth home, sweet home. Not to mention the visitors who arrive on the dancing tongue of your subtropical girlfriend."
6) Sheldon never misses a chance to reply to Penny (Season 1, Episode 4)

In this episode of The Big Bang Theory titled The Luminous Fish Effect, Sheldon gets fired for being cocky with their new department head, Dr. Gablehauser. Later, when he goes to the grocery store with Penny and tells her that he has been fired, Penny tries to console him by telling him that when one door closes, another opens.
Sheldon, even with a grim mood, replies:
"No it doesn’t. Not unless the two doors are connected by relays, or there are motion sensors involved."
This destroys Penny’s attempt to make him feel better as she gives up trying to make him understand what she meant by that.
5) Sheldon defeats Leonard in 3-dimensional chess (Season 1, Episode 11)
From denying him to take his spot on the couch to commenting on his dating life, Sheldon, just like with Penny, never misses an opportunity to be savage to Leonard’s defeat, even if it is just a game of 3-dimensional chess. In this episode of The Big Bang Theory, while Leonard takes a while in making his move in the 3-D chess, Sheldon instantly checkmates him.
As Leonard asks him to rest the board, Sheldon replies savagely by pointing at the three levels of the chessboard and says:
"It must be humbling to suck on so many different levels."
4) Sheldon’s savage reply to Howard (Season 6, Episode 24)

Howard has also been a victim of Sheldon’s savage comebacks many times in The Big Bang Theory. Just like he mocked Penny for education, he also mocked Howard for not having a Phd like his other friends and mocked him for it several times, even after he went to space.
In this episode of The Big Bang Theory, as Sheldon proposes a toast to Leonard, Howard compliments and says it might have killed him when Howard was in space. As usual, Sheldon’s savage reply was ready as he says back:
"It did not kill me when you went to space. Monkeys went to space."
3) Sheldon’s savage reply to the pizza delivery guy (Season 4, Episode 9)
This episode of The Big Bang Theory was another example of how Sheldon’s savage comebacks were not for his close ones but for anyone who asks questions that he might find obvious or silly. While talking with Howard, Sheldon receives a call from the pizza delivery guy and informs him that their lift is broken. To which the delivery guy might have asked if he should use the stairs to deliver the pizza.
Sheldon quickly replies by giving him some knowledge about the Pizza as well as saying:
"Of course you can. Pizza dates back to the 16th century, while the first elevator was not installed until 1852. That means that for over 300 years, people carried pizzas up stairs. Be part of that proud tradition."
2) He gives back Bernadette’s care package (Season 9, Episode 13)

Sheldon getting sick is the most dreadful situation for his friends in The Big Bang Theory, as taking care of a sick Sheldon drains everyone’s energy. In this episode titled The Empathy Optimization, we are shown several flashbacks where Sheldon either becomes too clingy and demanding.
In one of those flashbacks, Sheldon, even in his illness, doesn’t hold back his brutal comebacks toward the people who try to take care of him as he rejects Bernadette’s care package that she brings for him and says back:
"I hope laughter is the best medicine, ’cause this care package is a joke."
1) Sheldon’s sarcastic comments toward Leonard (Season 2, Episode 2)
Sheldon commenting on Leonard’s dating life is one of the funniest scenes from The Big Bang Theory. In this episode, Leonard tries to feel neutral about Penny moving on after the breakup with him. He tells his friend it's a good thing that Penny is dating someone else, giving him freedom to date.
His friends mock him by reminding him of his dating history, which doesn’t include many women. His attempt to defend himself also fails when he could only name two women, giving Sheldon another chance to give one of his savage replies, and says:
"Notify the editors of the Oxford English Dictionary, the word plenty has been redefined to mean two."
