Beyond The Bar Episode 4 recap: Seok-hoon finds a unique way to bring down a monstrous man

Netflix’s Beyond the Bar showed one of the intriguing episodes so far with this new case in Episode 4. With a case about a wealthy client who wanted to sue his housekeeper for defamation for false reports, the episode started delving into how sometimes the law turns out to save the perpetrators.

However, Seok-hoon still finds a way to bring the truth to the fore. Further, the episode showed Seok-hoon’s longing for a child, and also his ex-wife’s appearance, which made the situation more complicated.

Here’s what happened in Episode 4 of the Netflix K-drama, Beyond the Bar.

Beyond The Bar Episode 4 recap: Yullim gets a new client

Episode 4 of Beyond the Bar introduces a new client of Yullim, Choi Cheol-min, founder of the COMO fund, who is ready to make an investment deal with the law firm if Seok-hoon takes up his case. With Kim Yul-seong’s help, Tae-seop and the others bring Seok-hoon on board to meet Cheol-min.

Cheol-min reveals that he wants to file a case against his former housekeeper, Yeong-suk. He tells them that Yeong-suk filed a false complaint about him abusing his six-year-old daughter, and also went to the media to reveal this.

However, he says that she is lying, and the photos that she took of his daughter being hurt are also fake. Despite Seok-hoon’s strong stance against abuse, he takes the case up, leaving everyone shocked.


Beyond The Bar Episode 4 recap: Seok-hoon settles the case with Yeong-suk

Seok-hoon, taking the case, left his colleagues shocked, including Hyo-min. In episode 4 of Beyond the Bar, Hyo-min is sent to meet the housekeeper to learn about her side of the story.

Yeong-suk tells Hyo-min that while she has never seen Cheol-min abusing his daughter, she has many times seen the girl with injuries. Once, she also saw Cheol-min bringing a doctor home to treat his daughter’s wounds. Due to this, Hyo-min tries to confront Seok-hoon about the case as she believes Cheol-min abuses his daughter.

However, she later finds out that Yeong-suk has police cases for fraudulent activities and theft, which makes her question whether Yeong-suk was telling the truth. While Seok-hoon tells Hyo-min not to judge people by their past deeds, as sometimes bad people end up doing good things, and good people do bad things.

Later, he brutally condemns Yeong-suk in front of Cheol-min for her efforts to defame him and forces her to sign an agreement that she would not file a false report against him ever.


Beyond The Bar Episode 4 recap: Seok-hoon finds a way to punish Cheol-min

Before, he condemned Yeong-suk for troubling Cheol-min, Seok-hoon went to meet his daughter, and was sure that the young girl was being abused. However, as he tells Hyo-min that it is difficult to get Cheol-min punished with the help of the law, as it would end up harming the child more, he was also plotting an elaborate plan to make the monstrous man pay.

He was trying to build a case against him by proving that he was embezzling money from his boss, Tae-seong. While he informs Tae-seong about it and promises to help him get his money back, Cheol-min calls him, telling him to save him from the cops, as his daughter might have run away.

However, Seok-hoon finds the child, In-yeong, hiding in her closet, hiding. He takes her with him, telling Cheol-min that he will take care of the evidence to save him. In the hospital, Seok-hoon learns that In-yeong would need surgery. This enrages Seok-hoon, and he goes back to Cheol-min’s house and beats him black and blue. Later, he helps Tae-seong get all his money back from Cheol-min, leaving him bankrupt, while In-yeong goes to live with his mother.

Taking care of In-yeong brings back Seok-hoon’s longing for a child, which he could not have as his ex-wife was not ready to have a child. However, at the end of episode 5 of Beyond the Bar, Seok-hoon finds out that his ex-wife, now married to his high-school friend, is expecting a child with him, which leaves him more devastated.
