After an unpredictable Week 2 that ended in a unanimous eviction, the power dynamics inside the Big Brother 27 house have shifted again. Following Jimmy Heagerty’s chaotic HOH reign, where five different houseguests were nominated and secret powers derailed his original plan, Lauren Domingue has emerged as the new Head of Household for Week 3.
The 22-year-old bridal consultant from Lafayette, Louisiana, secured the HOH title after Amy Bingham was evicted over Cliffton "Will" Williams on Thursday, July 24. Lauren’s HOH win has already prompted significant strategy talks within the house, marking her first major moment of gameplay spotlight in the season so far.
Live feeds revealed her early thoughts on potential nominees, hinting at a possible shake-up. CBS will air the full HOH competition and nomination ceremony during the Sunday, July 27 episode.
Big Brother 27: What happened in week 3?
Lauren Domingue’s HOH victory became clear once the Big Brother 27 live feeds resumed after the July 24 eviction episode. Her win follows an intense and ultimately unproductive week of Jimmy Heagerty’s reign, during which Amy Bingham was evicted by a unanimous vote.
Jimmy’s original nominees were protected by a series of powers. Keanu Soto and Kelley Jorgensen used secret powers to save themselves, and Adrian Rocha activated the BB Blockbuster, further changing the outcome. Lauren, who has so far stayed out of the spotlight, now faces the task of nominating three houseguests.
In conversations with her Final 2 ally Vince Panaro, Lauren discussed putting Keanu on the block. She said that the house wants him evicted. She also mentioned Kelley Jorgensen, though she added, "I love her," making it clear she was hesitant about that move. Later, Kelley reportedly told Lauren that she could nominate her if necessary, believing she could win the veto again.
Another name that came up was Will Williams. Lauren told Vince that she hadn’t played any games with him, which made him a potential option. Ashley Hollis was also a consideration. Lauren mentioned to Vince and Zach Cornell that she was thinking about nominating Ashley, but was worried about her holding a grudge.
According to Lauren, two factions are starting to form inside the Big Brother 27 house. She told Zach during a conversation on July 24 that she sees herself “sort of in the middle.” She explained that one side includes the girls and Jimmy, where “everyone is sort of unified.” The other side, consisting of the men plus Kelley, is “not unified,” though she added,
“I feel good about my relationships with almost all of them.”
This marks a pivotal shift for Lauren. Until now, her presence in Big Brother 27 has focused more on her social connections, such as her close friendship with Katherine Woodman and a growing, but cautious, flirtation with Zach. On July 24, during her conversation with Zach, Lauren said she was unsure about starting a showmance in the house, reflecting her discomfort with mixing romance and strategy.
Her HOH win may also sidestep interference from remaining powers in the house. Jimmy’s plans during Week 2 were derailed by multiple game advantages.
However, most of those powers have now been used. Only Zach’s $10,000 self-save and Mickey Lee’s ability to overthrow the HOH remain in play. Since Lauren has not named Zach or Mickey as potential nominees, Week 3 could unfold without similar disruptions.
Still, as always with Big Brother, unexpected twists remain a possibility. The Power of Veto competition and BB Blockbuster could still alter the nominations before the eviction. CBS will reveal the official nominees and Veto outcomes in upcoming episodes.
Big Brother 27 new episodes are airing every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday on CBS.
