Bon Appétit, Your Majesty special episode explained: What happened when the cast returned for 'No Leaving the Palace'

As a delightful surprise for fans of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, tvN aired a special episode titled "No Leaving the Palace" on October 4, 2025. It aired during the Chuseok holidays, which are one of the most celebrated holidays in Korea.

Even though the K-drama had an entertaining and satisfying ending, many still thought it was rushed. There were questions about how Lee-heon went to the future and how Jinmyeon managed the castle. So the network decided to make another episode, but with a twist.

It reunited the drama’s leading stars: Yoona, Lee Chae-min, Kang Han-na, Oh Eui-shik, and Lee Joo-ahn. These actors reprised their roles for the last time and later talked about filming and their experience.

Not only this, but the entire cast was shown the finale of the K-drama, also featuring the last kiss between Yeon Ji-young and King Lee-heon. The reactions became a memorable part for fans.

The extra episode of the K-drama is titled "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Special: No Leaving the Palace," where the cast members appear in casual dresses, creating a comfortable environment, and discuss the ending and their experience of filming a hit K-drama.

As mentioned earlier, the special episode aired only on tvN on October 4 at 9:10 pm KST and followed a different structure than the regular episodes of the K-drama. The good news is that fans can now watch the extra episode of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty on tvN's official YouTube channel.

Clips with English subtitles are also circulating on the internet, notably social media platforms like Instagram and X, in which the cast is reacting to the tender moment between Ji-young and Lee-heon, leaving Lee Chae-min feeling shy.

The overall purpose of this special broadcast was to clarify or resolve those mysteries that remain in the minds of the viewers after watching the finale and are not addressed there. In particular, how King Lee-heon got to the present day, how he was able to live through the time jump, and did he became rich and adjusted to the modern era.

Oh Eui-sik talked about accidentally hitting Lee Chae-min on the sets of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty

While Yoona and Lee Chae-min are the heart of the K-drama, the story wouldn't feel complete without other fan-adored characters like Gil-geum, Gong-gil, and, how can we forget Song-jae? He gave his life to save the King, and was reincarnated in modern times.

The role is played by well-known actor Oh Eui-sik, who also appeared in the special episode of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty and revealed that he unknowingly hit Lee Chae-min while filming a scene. The actor said:

"There’s a scene where I spin around once during my movement and kick over Yi Heon’s head."

Oh continued:

"[Actor Chae-min is] very tall, isn’t he? Even though I stretched and bent as much as I could, I ended up kicking his head straight on."

Oh Eui-sik also mentioned that the kick wasn't light, and both actors could feel it. He felt bad and promised to take Lee for dinner after the shoot. Lee added that he was in pain and wanted to stop the filming for a day, but since the shoot was important and Oh kept apologizing, the actors were able to take the shot.
