Chad Powers' release schedule: When will new episodes of the Glen Powell series drop on Hulu?

The new sports comedy series, headlined by Glen Powell, Chad Powers, is gearing up for its premiere next week. The Hulu series follows Russ Holliday, a former college quarterback whose life unravels after a mistake that cost him his career. But eight years after the life-altering mistake, Russ comes up with a scheme that requires him to go undercover and disguise himself as "Chad Powers".

In the trailer, Powell’s Russ describes his scheme for resurrecting his dead football career as "I am gonna do a Mrs. Doubtfire, but with football". For those who don't know, the 1993 movie Mrs. Doubtfire follows a struggling actor who disguises himself as "Mrs. Doubtfire", an old female British nanny, to spend time with his kids after a divorce.

Former professional quarterback Eli Manning and Glen Powell co-created the Hulu sports comedy, which consists of six episodes.

As mentioned earlier, the sports comedy series will begin streaming on the OTT platform Hulu on September 30, 2025. The first two episodes will be premiering on the same day, and the remaining four episodes will be released weekly. The sixth and final episode of the series will stream four weeks later on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

As mentioned before, Glen Powell and Eli Manning created the series. This upcoming Hulu series has one of the wildest origins, as it is based on a sketch. In 2022, Eli Manning went undercover as a candidate for a Penn State University football tryout.

Powell spoke about the idea behind creating the series in a The Hollywood Reporter interview published on August 20, 2025:

“What made Eli’s thing so magical is the viewer knew Eli Manning was under [the disguise]. So, let’s use the lie at the center of this thing, which creates inherent fun conflict over the course of the series. We were like, ‘OK, we’re going to Tootsie this thing. Let’s Mrs. Doubtfire it, and let’s see how far we can take this lie.’ "

Who stars in the Hulu series?

In addition to playing the protagonist, Powell is one of the co-creators of the series. The Hulu comedy series is stacked with a talented star cast consisting of faces that have appeared in comedy shows previously. Here are some of the actors we know are appearing in the series:

As mentioned earlier, the Hulu series takes the premise of the original 2022 sketch and is trying to tell a six-episode series around it. It is unclear as of now if the series is a miniseries or not.

The six-episode miniseries, headlined by Glen Powell, will surely tickle the viewers' funny bone between September 30, 2025, and October 28, 2025.
