Confidence Queen Episode 6 recap: Seong-woo is exposed

Episode 6 of Confidence Queen showcases the fake surgery of Seon-mi. After Yi-rang agrees to do the surgery, she is brought to the operating room. To expose Seong-woo, Yi-rang has brought a group of specialists to oversee the surgery.

James tries to show them a feed of a real surgery. However, the feed stops working, prompting Yi-rang to think quickly and perform a real surgery, which scares Gu-ho to the bone. She then begins to perform the surgery and nicks an artery, leaving Seong-woo scared for his mother’s life.

He begs Gwang-sik to save his mother’s life the same way Gwang-sik begged him to let him operate on Jae-hee. Gwang-sik leaves the OR, leaving Seong-woo to operate on her mother. This results in him being exposed in front of specialists as a fraud and having never operated on anyone.

At the end, it is revealed that Yi-rang was operating on a dummy and not on Seon-mi, which shocks Gu-ho as he was kept out of the loop, while Gwang-sik knew everything. Yi-rang tells him that he doubted her earlier, which is why she did not tell him about her plan.

Confidence Queen Episode 6 recap: A look into Yi-rang’s past

Team Confidence Man experiences another success in Episode 6 of Confidence Queen. They get their money before Seon-mi realises everything was fake, and also expose the fraudulent doctor Seong-woo. Gwang-sik, in a press conference, reveals that he is his ghost doctor and is performing all the surgeries for him, which results in the sinking of the mother-son duo’s reputation.

Later, as the team goes to pay Jae-hee a visit, who now looks better, we are taken back to Yi-rang’s childhood. A 10-year-old Yi-rang is shown to tease her head of security, James, by showing him a painting and later a live mini explosion. It’s her 10th birthday, and her father, Chairman Yun, has planned a birthday party in an amusement park with the theme of Alice in Wonderland.

However, the party becomes a part of Yi-rang’s traumatic experience when she is lured away and kidnapped. She is taken to the same location that we have seen multiple times in the series whenever Yi-rang thinks about her childhood.

She is bored with playing chess and hide and seek with the masked men, and plans to escape after being confined in the castle for two days.

Confidence Queen Episode 6 recap: James finds Yi-rang

In Episode 6 of Confidence Queen, James begins to look for clues that would take him to Yi-rang. With the help of pictures from the day the party was organised, he discovers that Yi-rang was lured to an ice cream truck with the help of solving a puzzle with diagrams of different shades on the rides.

James learns that it was the men in rabbit costumes who lured and kidnapped Yi-rang. He also alerts his boss about someone from teh police being involved in the case and asks him to make the case public, which would put pressure on the kidnappers.

As the public learns about the kidnapping, they decide to get rid of Yi-rang. While James follows the police officer, whom he thinks is the informant of the kidnappers, Yi-rang makes a plan of her own escape. She creates the same setting with which she had shown James a mini explosion, but on a larger scale this time.

Following the trail of the police officer, James reaches the castle where Yi-rang was held captive and sees the explosion and a fleeing Yi-rang just a while. He runs to her through the cornfield, tackles a masked man, and saves Yi-rang’s life.

In the present, Yi-rang is shown in her secret room, and her investigation into finding out the answers regarding her kidnapping all those years ago.
