Gen V Season 2 is just two weeks away from its September premiere. The internet is full of countless rumors regarding the plotlines and characters. It should also be noted that the second season is expected to set up The Boys Season 5, just like the first season set up The Boys Season 4. Therefore, fans are very hyped for the upcoming second season of Gen V.
However, one character that fans are hoping to return is Homelander. If you remember, Anthony Starr returned as the evil supe in the last act of the Season 1 finale and reframed Marie, Emma, Andre, and Jordan as the aggressors who attacked the non-supes at Godolkin University, even though they were trying to help.
His return has not been officially confirmed, but the latest Gen V Season 2 teaser hints at his presence. At one point, we even see his name appear on Sister Sage’s phone, which she answers. For now, it is unclear if Homelander will appear in the second season. However, even if he does, the makers will likely keep it a surprise.
Sister Sage, Black Noir, and The Deep's appearance in Gen V Season 2 is related to Project Odessa:
Project Odessa was introduced in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment in the opening minutes of The Boys Season 4, Episode 4. Gen V Season 2 will shine a light on Project Odessa. Many believe that the mysterious project is Vought’s plan to replace Homelander with another supe who is easier to control. We’ll learn more when Season 2 premieres with its first three episodes.
The trailer for this season sets up an intriguing mystery for Gen V Season 2, including Andre Anderson's mysterious absence and Project Odessa. However, we probably know what happened to Andre. Actor Chance Perdomo, who played Andre, sadly passed away in an accident in 2024, and the makers decided to honor him by not recasting the character.
What do we know about the second season?
The second season will show us what the world looks like as Homelander has taken over the US. As the trailer shows, Cate releases Marie, Emma, and Jordan from their detainment facility, and the three rejoin Godolkin University. However, Marie is here for a secret mission: tlearn more about Project Odessa.
"School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."
