Twisted Metal Season 3 is the one big question hanging over every fan's head right now. The second season went out with a bang, ending on August 28 with twists that no one really saw coming, but let's face it, that is the beauty of the show.
However, the question here is: Has Peacock officially renewed it yet? The short answer is no, at least not yet.
However, the creators have made it clear they're not short on storylines. In fact, showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith has already teased how the series could grow if a Twisted Metal Season 3 does materialize.
What’s up with Twisted Metal Season 3’s renewal?
Right now, Twisted Metal Season 3 is sitting in that strange space between hope and uncertainty. Peacock hasn't announced a renewal, but it hasn't pulled the plug either. And for fans of this wild, post-apocalyptic ride, that's reason enough to stay optimistic. After all, the second season expanded the world and left several doors wide open for more storytelling.

Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith has been vocal about his ideas for where the show could go if it continues.
In an interview with TheWrap, he said;
"We're going bigger with the world. The Divided States of America is at war. I'm very much imagining that this is the next tournament. It's the insiders versus the outsiders that John and Quiet have to get through to get to Calypso. How do they defeat Calypso? Can they defeat Calypso? What does that look like?"
His words make it clear the story has only just hit its stride. The finale left John Doe, Quiet, and Mayhem branded as public enemies, with war breaking out between the Insiders and Outsiders.
On top of that, Sweet Tooth's fate remains uncertain, and Calypso is still out there pulling strings. If renewal occurs, Season 3 would dive headfirst into chaos.
Where could the story go in Twisted Metal Season 3?
The Season 2 finale didn't just close a chapter, it cracked open a dozen new ones. Fans watched Stu win the tournament only to be tricked by Calypso, stranded in orbit with the corpse of his best friend.

Meanwhile, John and Quiet found temporary peace in a cabin with Mayhem, only for Calypso to shatter that calm with a broadcast that painted them as villains. From that moment, the war between factions truly ignited.
The shocker, though, was the reveal of Minion. In a jaw-dropping twist, the fearsome armored villain turned out to be John's sister Krista, also known as Dollface, resurrected and twisted into Calypso's puppet.
Actress Tiana Okoye spoke to TV Insider about the transformation, admitting;
"It is a little bit nerve-racking to take on a role that has such a big fan base... but I think it'll be a really fun surprise for some people."
She also hinted at what's next, saying;
"For Season 3, as far as Minion and John are considered, I feel like the roles will be reversed. I feel like John is going to be the one that's trying to get me to remember."
That tease alone suggests that Twisted Metal Season 3 could lean into family drama just as much as destruction and tournaments. And then there's Calypso himself. Michael Jonathan Smith teased that there are still plenty of characters yet to be introduced, including Warthog Minion's larger arc, and even seeds planted for a possible Season 4.
With so many unresolved threads, the writers clearly have more fuel in the tank.
So, could there be a Twisted Metal Season 3? Absolutely. But, only if Peacock gives the green light. The cast and creators already have stories lined up, and the Season 2 finale left fans with more questions than answers.
For now, all eyes are on Peacock. Until then, fans can only rev their engines and wait for the next chaotic ride.
