Could there be a Two Graves Season 2? Here’s what we know about the future of the Spanish thriller

Two Graves has proven to be a massive success for Netflix. The Spanish thriller has attained the number 1 spot on the streamer’s top 10 shows chart, proving that its story has a universal appeal.

The series revolves around two teenage girls, Marta and Verónica, who disappear one night after attending a local festival. When the authorities fail to figure out what happened to them, Verónica’s grandmother, Isabel, takes it upon herself to find the truth.

While the show has kept the audience hooked with its thrilling narrative, it features only three episodes, which makes one wonder whether there will be a Two Graves Season 2. As of now, Netflix has not renewed the series for another season.

The renewal status and possibility of Two Graves Season 2

Two Graves Season 2 has not been ordered by Netflix yet. The program has been billed as a limited series, which generally lasts only one season. The main plot has also been resolved in the three episodes of the show, with the mystery about Marta and Verónica’s disappearance being solved. Hence, it is possible that there would not be another season of the Spanish thriller, as it was always envisioned as a one-season project.

That being said, there have been times when miniseries have been renewed for multiple seasons due to their strong viewership and public demand. One example is Netflix’s Beef, which started as a limited program but was renewed after its streaming success and was turned into an anthology series.

Considering that Two Graves is winning over the audience and has taken the top spot on the streaming platform, Netflix might want to capitalize on its popularity. The streamer will analyze the performance of the show in the upcoming weeks and might just renew it if they feel the project is profitable enough.

In that case, the creators would have to come up with a way to continue the show’s story. There are still some potential arcs that can be explored in the second season, for example, the aftermath of the revelation of Marta’s murderer and how the authorities deal with the killer. On the other hand, the show could also take an anthology approach and focus on a new murder mystery in the next season.

For now, we need to wait for an official confirmation by Netflix to find out whether the show gets renewed for another installment. The first season of Two Graves starred Kiti Mánver as Isabel, Nadia Vilaplana as Verónica, Zoé Arnao as Marta, Álvaro Morte as Rafael Salazar, Hovik Keuchkerian as Antonio, and Salva Reina as Carlos Raén.
