Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 executive producer Jesse Wigutow sat down for an interview with Collider on Friday, October 3, 2025. Wigutow was there to promote the upcoming Tron: Ares, a project that he wrote. However, the highlight of the interview comes from when Wigutow extensively discussed the second and third seasons of Born Again.

One of the things that Jesse Wigutow promised is that the upcoming season will fix the thing that some might consider as the issue with the first one: i.e., the cobbled-together nature of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. Here's what he told Collider Editor-in-Chief Steve Weintraub:

"We are in the process. It's so fresh in my mind. I'm looking at cuts and thinking about, 'What can we improve?' I think it's a singular vision in a way that Season 1 is not. Season 1 is, to your point, not hodgepodge, but it was jigsawed together. We came up with a new pilot and we came up with a new finale, and that's kind of what you're speaking to there, the clarity of those two things, which I thought worked, and I think Season 2 has the same. There is clarity of vision. The showrunner has been awesome and really has a point of view that we've executed on. Nothing's perfect, but I do think Season 2 is quite good, and I think it's going to be very satisfying."

Explaining Daredevil: Born Again executive producer Jesse Wigutow's comments:

It should be noted that the version of Born Again Season 1 we currently have on Disney+ is a retooled version under showrunner Dario Scardapane. Initially announced at SDCC 2022, Marvel opted to pull the plug on the original version of Daredevil: Born Again and reworked it to the current version. But this version also uses some episodes that were initially shot for the original version.

However, Scardapane was involved from the very beginning of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2; it is not a blend of two very different versions of the show.

Jesse Wigutow teases a satisfying climax for the upcoming season:

When Weintraub asked Wigutow what the latter could tease about Daredevil: Born Again's second season. The executive producer revealed that The Man Without Fear's fans can expect big things in the upcoming season, which is expected to be released in March 2026:

"It’s not a whole lot I can say, obviously, in terms of specifics, but it is a very big portrait that we're telling, a big New York City story, crime, politics. Obviously, we have Mayor Fisk and all of the palace intrigue around him inside City Hall. All of it, I think, is really awesome. What I take away most from the season — and we're just going through cuts now, we're about to embark on Season 3 — is that we told this really big story, it got very wide, and then we kind of drive it in the finale to really what matters most. I think what people care about are these two characters and the conflict that they're in, how deeply they hate each other, and how deeply they need each other. We really carve out all the stuff around them that we've built up, and it's just the two of them, face-to-face, in a really, I think, satisfying climax."

Wigutow also hyped up Born Again Season 3:

Born Again was renewed for a third season on September 18, 2025. In this interview, Jesse Wigutow also said something interesting that had fans wonder about Wilson Fisk/Kingpin's fate in the season 2 finale:

"It is a continuation[season 3]... It is a new direction, and it is leaving a lot of what was built in [Seasons] 1 and 2 behind."

When Weintraub asked the EP about the status of the Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 script and the production start date, Wigutow revealed that the team is scheduled to meet soon, in a matter of weeks:

"I would say largely yes to all of that. We haven't started writing anything. We're reconvening in the next week or two as a creative trust in a writers’ room. Production targeted on a similar schedule to Season 2 would be sometime in spring."

As we wait for the second season early next year, catch the entirety of the first season, which is accessible to stream on Disney+.
