Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 to bring back this underrated character from the Netflix series: Find out who

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has finally retained one Netflix Marvel character that was missing in Born Again Season 1. The said character is none other than Detective Sergeant Brett Mahoney, played by actor Royce Johnson. The last time we met Brett was back in 2018, in Daredevil Season 3, where he was the one who arrested Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Now, Naqam Washington, the fitness coach who trains the cast members of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, posted several images on his Instagram handle with cast members of the upcoming season celebrating the wrap of filming. One of these images shows Washington posing with Royce Johnson. This may hint that Johnson is indeed returning, after sitting out Born Again Season 1.

Who is Brett Mahoney, and what is his role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?

Brett Mahoney is someone who has been around in the Netflix Marvel Universe since its inception. After that, he appeared in all three seasons of Netflix's Daredevil, a season of Jessica Jones, and The Punisher. However, Mahoney was noticeably absent from the first season of Born Again, and therefore, fans celebrated his return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

Probably, his role in the second season might provide insight into what Mahoney feels about a man whom he arrested being the mayor of the city. It also remains to be seen if Mahoney resigned before the events of the first season, which is why we don't meet him in the first season. But it seems that we don't need to wait long to learn more about Brett Mahoney's role as the second season has wrapped filming.

What do we know about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?

For now, plot points for season 2 are under wraps, but we know that it will pick up right where the first season ended, Matt trying his best to bring down Wilson Fisk's oppressive mayoral regime. If you remember, Fisk successfully enacted a mask ban in the Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 finale. Daredevil has gone into hiding and has formed an army consisting of common people.

Looks like Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 might include two new members in Matt's army, Brett Mahoney and Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter. However, we have to wait for a while to learn more details about the second season. But we can expect to learn more about the upcoming season because Dario Scardapane has confirmed that it has wrapped filming through an Instagram post with a caption reading:
