Daredevil: Born Again Season 2's Krysten Ritter was recently asked about the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series during the promotional tour of Showtime's thriller series Dexter: Resurrection. ScreenRant's reporter, Liam Crowley, discussed Resurrection with Ritter mostly, but the conversation did move towards the second season of Born Again, and the actress's role in it.
For those who don't know, Krysten Ritter's return as Jessica Jones was confirmed officially in May 2025 at the upfront event during Disney's presentation. Now, approximately two months later, Ritter touched upon her return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. She touched upon how she felt about returning as Jessica Jones:
"It's very exciting. I am very thrilled to be back in Jessica's boots. There's more story for her and it's really exciting."
Then, the actress also went on to tease what tone fans should expect from her character in the upcoming Disney+ series in comparison to the Netflix series Jessica Jones, which ran for three seasons between 2015 and 2019.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2's Krysten Ritter also teases a gritty tone in Disney+ series:
Ritter also discussed the tone of her character in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 with Liam Crowley. She assured that fans can expect the same gritty tone that fans were familiar with in the Netflix shows. The actress's exact words were:
"Oh, it's gritty. It feels big too. The crew's amazing. I've had an amazing experience. I can't say anything, but I love being with Charlie [Cox]. It was as if no time had passed. Like, my first day, I was looking around like we're back. But juxtaposing it with Mia [her Dexter Resurrection character] and Jessica has been really creatively fulfilling for me as an artist and just what a big, big banner year I'm having. I think the fans are going to be very, very thrilled. We're doing some cool stuff."
Her comment means that the Jessica Jones we'll meet in 2026 through Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will have the same edge that she had in the Netflix series. But, considering how The Man Without Fear could perform more elaborate stunts in the Disney+series, we can expect some cooler stuff from Jessica Jones as well.
Considering Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has wrapped filming, we can expect a Jessica Jones tease soon:
