What happened in Dear X episodes 9-10: A quick recap

Episodes 9 and 10 of Dear X push Baek Ah-jin into yet another turning point, proving that even after In-gang’s death and the nation turning against her, she still knows how to climb back up, even if it means breaking the hearts of the only two people who genuinely cared for her.

While Jun-seo and Jae-oh barely escape a deadly fire, Ah-jin is busy sealing a new deal with Do Entertainment and accepting a marriage proposal from its CEO, Moon Do-hyeok, whose intentions seem far more strategic than romantic.

Episode 9 opens with Ah-jin being thrown out of Longstar as Seo Me-ri tries to pin In-gang’s demise on her. But Me-ri’s own secrets catch up with her, and with Do-hyeok pulling strings behind the scenes, she’s arrested, allowing Ah-jin’s image to recover.

Meanwhile, Jun-seo undergoes a kidney transplant for his mother under one condition: she must stay away from Ah-jin and his grandfather. His world collapses again when his grandfather dies and he learns the truth about his birth, a secret Ah-jin had kept from him.

By Episode 10, Ah-jin’s sudden marriage becomes national news, leaving Jun-seo and Jae-oh devastated. Do-hyeok’s possessive nature begins to surface, especially with his mysterious locked floor and veiled threats about divorce.

The episode ends with Jung-hee breaking into their home and attacking Ah-jin, only to injure herself severely during the struggle. And to make it even more complicated, Do-yeok witnesses it all.
