So far, Ah-jin has been surviving using her manipulative side, and she's expected to do the same with Hwang's character.

In just four episodes, fans have once again fallen in love with Kim's acting and are eagerly waiting for the plot to keep getting intense.

Unlike her role in My Demon, Kim is playing a role that feels like an anti-heroine. Her childhood was marked only by scars and deception, and now she's using it all for survival and success in her life.

In the first four episodes of Dear X, it's revealed that Ah-jin has transformed from a frightened child into a ruthless star who knows how to survive by controlling others. Her mother was an alcoholic and abusive, while her father watched her being tortured and later killed his own wife.

Ah-jin witnessed her mother's death but couldn't do anything as her parents were the biggest monsters in her life. However, Ah-jin did get close to her friends, Yoon Jun-seo and Kim Jae-oh. While Jun-seo is her stepbrother, Jae-oh is a friend who has known Ah-jin since childhood.

They both had bad parents and faced only difficulties and darkness in their childhood. However, this isn't the case anymore. Ah-jin is now Korea's top actress, who rose to fame, but behind that fame is a girl who once had nothing and had to use manipulation from the beginning.

She didn't just help Jae-oh escape prison for his father's death, but Ah-jin also staged her father's murder. With no guilt, she hides the truth and accepts a deal that launches her to stardom.

By the end of Dear X Episode 4, Baek Ah-jin’s face lights up Seoul’s billboards. The world sees a star, but she knows she’s built it on secrets and blood.
