There’s been a lot of talk lately about whether the popular K-drama True Beauty is getting a second season, especially on TikTok and fan pages. But here’s the bottom line: as of now, there’s no official confirmation that a live-action season 2 is in the works.
Neither the TV network that aired it (tvN), the production company (Studio Dragon), nor any of the main actors have said anything about coming back for another season. The original show aired in December 2020 and concluded in February 2021.
The K-drama introduced fans to the beloved webtoon characters played by some of the most popular South Korean stars, including Mun Ka Young (also called Moon Ga-young), Cha Eun-woo, Hwang In-youp, and more. Since the drama concluded, the cast has moved on to other dramas and projects.
If you've been missing Cha Eun-woo and Moon Ka Young on-screen, the two are confirmed in different upcoming K-dramas. Eun-woo will star in Netflix's comedy series, The WONDERfools, and Ka Young is set to appear in tvN's legal drama, Law and the City, alongside Lee Jong-suk in July 2025.
However, for fans still holding on to the hope for a potential True Beauty Season 2, there’s no concrete proof of the second chapter. It's been a few years since the drama came out, but fans still love to discuss it online.
True Beauty Season 2 has not been officially confirmed by tvN

As mentioned before, True Beauty wrapped up in February 2021, but fans still love to rewatch the K-drama and speculate if there's more to come. In recent days, there have been rumors on social media platforms, notably TikTok, that fans are finally getting a second chapter.
However, there's no official confirmation from tvN or the cast members. A lot of fan-made content online, including TikToks that mix scenes from the actors’ other dramas, is being shared as if it's from a second season, which is only spreading more confusion.
Some fans have even begun theorizing about plotlines, new characters, and casting possibilities. But even the webtoon’s creator, Yaongyi, hasn’t made any announcement about whether a new season will happen or if the original cast will return.
The anime version of True Beauty has been renewed for a second season

While there’s no confirmed second season of the live-action drama, there is an official sequel happening for the animated version. An anime adaptation of True Beauty was created by Studio N and Cocktail Media, and its first season aired from August to October 2024.
This version stayed much closer to the original webtoon storyline compared to the K-drama. Importantly, the anime ended on a big cliffhanger, which led to its official renewal in early 2025 for a second season.
The streaming service Crunchyroll and the production team have already confirmed that season 2 of the anime is being developed. However, they haven’t revealed the release date or the voice actors involved yet.
It’s worth noting that the anime is completely separate from the live-action K-drama. It does not include the K-drama cast, and its tone and storyline stick more closely to the webtoon source material.
