Our favorite childhood nostalgia shall be back on our screens, as Netflix is in the process of creating a live-action Scooby-Doo series. As of now, we know that Warner Bros. Television shall be producing it, and it is currently at its very formative stage.
As per What's on Netflix, some reported developments have been revealed. They have uncovered many things, including its synopsis. As per the outlet, the series will be reinvented in a fresh, contemporary manner that explores the Scooby-Doo gang investigating a spooky case. It reads as follows:
“A modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.
Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”

The Netflix live-action of Scooby-Doo is reportedly intended to have a different flavor altogether
As per the outlet, the reported synopsis mentions that the Scooby-Doo live-action series is intended to explore their growing years and their friendship. Unlike the popular imagination, in this series, we could witness how these five separate people eventually become the Mystery Machine gang.
The outlet also reveals further information about the plot, as posted in issue 1484 in Production Weekly. In this synopsis, it is mentioned how a 'lonely lost Great Dane puppy' becomes a part of the gang during an eerie case at a summer camp. There is also the entry of a 'handsome new kid', who is our very own Fred.

“An origin story of how the Mystery Inc. group got together and first teamed up to crack the haunting case that started it all. During their final summer at Camp Ruby-Spears, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.”
Although unconfirmed, the issue also mentions the reported title of the series. It is Scooby Doo: Origins. The title does fit well within the context of the story, but whether it is verified is something we shall know in the future. Under the banner of Midnight Radio, Scott Rosenberg and Josh Appelbaum are producing as well as penning the series.
The first episode's name is also mentioned by the outlet. It is "Scooby-Doo." Unlike the previous live-action works of Scooby-Doo, this particular Netflix series is intended to be different than the rest. Similar to the mood of the Stranger Things world, it could have a mix of both enigma and real suspense. It shall be rooted in the original core of the cartoon through pop-culture nods, whilst exploring the storytelling in a way that is exploratory and also astute.
