A new episode of Dexter: Resurrection has finally dropped this week, aptly titled The Kill Room Where It Happens. The latest entry in this Dexter sequel brought a host of problems for our serial killer, who continued on his quest to kill all the members of Leon Prater's serial killer club. However, unbeknownst to him, Angel Batista successfully planted a tracker in his car in the previous episode and came very close to exposing him as the Bay Harbour Butcher.
While Batista managed to reach Dexter's kill table in Dexter: Resurrection Episode 8, Detective Wallace was still not convinced about his suspicions and accusations. When she contacted Quinn about the same, he revealed that Batista has retired and is no longer the Captain, which furthered her suspicions.
Elsewhere, while Prater was gearing up for an upcoming gala, Charley warns him about Red. However, he shrugs her warnings off and reaffirms his trust in him.
Here is the complete Dexter: Resurrection Episode 8 recap.
Dexter: Resurrection Episode 8 recap: Dexter plans to close in on the last member of Prater's club
Dexter: Resurrection Episode 8 begins with Dexter deciding to kill AI, the only member alive from Leon Prater's serial killer club. He calls and arranges to have a drink together, where he will finally kill him. Dexter starts to set up his kill table for AI at a wig shop, fitting for a killer who collects female ponytails as trophies. While he is determined to kill AI, he is fearful that his size and bad shoulder might hinder his killer plans.
Dexter's plans are interrupted when Harrison calls for his father's advice. Dexter calls Harrison to a nearby restaurant, where he is waiting for AI. Harrison tells him about Elsa's situation with her landlord, Vinny, and how he is refusing to make repairs, as he yelled at him earlier. While Dexter reveals that Vinny does not fit his code, he promises to think of a solution.
After his meeting with Harrison, Dexter is eagerly waiting for AI when Rapunzel tells him that AI left early and is already on his way to Wisconsin. Realizing that he will not be able to kill him tonight, Dexter makes another plan to satiate his killer urges.
Dexter: Resurrection Episode 8 recap: Batista discovers Dexter's kill table
With nobody to kill, Dexter returns home. His already disappointing night takes another turn when he enters into an argument with Blessing, following which, he leaves for Vinny's office. While Dexter believed that Elsa's landlord did not fit his code, Episode 8 saw him on the edge after he failed to kill AI. Raging, he goes to Vinny's office to confront him and later knocks him with a syringe.
The next thing Vinny sees is Dexter in a mask, which suggests that our killer is not going to kill him but is only scaring him off. As Dexter places Vinny on his kill table, he scares him into compliance and asks him to do necessary repairs at Elsa's home. On the other hand, Batista sees Dexter's location on the tracker and leaves to meet his old friend.
However, as soon as Dexter hears a click on the front door, he frees Vinny and runs out before Batista can catch him. While Batista failed to catch the Bay Harbour Butcher again, he hit the jackpot and noticed something on Dexter's kill table that made him certain the Butcher is active again. Elsewhere, Dexter discovers Batista's tracker in his car and destroys it.
Dexter: Resurrection Episode 8 recap: Leon Prater makes a surprising entry
After his close call with Batista in Dexter: Resurrection Episode 8, Dexter sits down for dinner with Harrison, who tells him that Elsa's house situation is finally under control, and Vinny is making all the necessary repairs in the house. He reveals that he shares his father's need to provide justice and indirectly thanks him for scaring Vinny off.
Just as Harrison and Dexter are having this conversation, Leon Prater and Charley walk into the restaurant, and Prater says:
"Red, I didn't know you had a son.''
Episode 8 ends on an exciting cliffhanger, where it looks like Prater might have finally discovered Dexter's true identity. Charley's coy smile in the final moments also hints that while Prater trusted Red, she was the one who pushed him and found more about Red's identity, leading Prater to Dexter.
