At this point, we are sure that the internet cannot have nice things because Pluribus fans recently zoomed into Google Earth like amateur CIA analysts. Reddit swears they stumbled onto a major spoiler, and it's not through insiders, but through an aerial view of Carol’s cul-de-sac!

Yes, Google Earth may be the new Apple TV leak. Ugh.

If you are eager to know what the now-infamous catch was, then well, it was a huge message painted across the pavement, reportedly saying “COME BACK.” It sounds like an unhinged breakup text, right?

The post that sent the fandom spiraling on other social media platforms first appeared on r/pluribustv, where a user casually dropped the observation. More than 500 upvotes and a flurry of theories later, the alleged writing has become the biggest clue of where Season 1 might be headed.

But first, let's get some context for those who aren't chronically online.

What Google Earth may now tell us about where Carol stands with the Hive on Pluribus

After Episode 5’s cliffhanger, where we saw Carol uncovering something under that warehouse tarp that made her face gape open, the show's silence is agonizing. Pluribus fans had time to spiral, and chose to spend that time scouring satellite imagery because why not?

Now coming back to the Reddit breakdown, we know that Vince Gilligan (aka VG) reportedly constructed an entire neighborhood for filming.

The images on Google Earth that show the cul-de-sac are from early August 2024. The painted message reads: "COME BACK," as we mentioned here.

The working theory is that Carol is trying to contact the Hive after they ghosted her following her seizure incident that killed millions. Oops.

Okay, so if it actually is her message, it tells us fans that the once-indispensable Carol may now be cut off completely. The breakup voicemail, which we heard repeatedly in the last episode, also hinted that the Hive needed “space.” And the Google Earth text screams she did not take that well!

The message was allegedly painted over and removed from Google Maps after the discovery, which convinced fans that it was a legit spoiler.

What does this spoiler mean for the latter half of Pluribus Season 1?

Speculation broke loose like the coyotes outside Carol's house, it seems, and we have a roundup of the most popular Pluribus fan theories.

Maybe Carol tries something massive to force the Hive to return. Or this message might just be the final shot of Season 1. Or do you think Carol is attempts to win back one specific member of the Hive? If you know who we mean. And lastly, the Hive may have realized Carol is more dangerous than helpful and relocate everyone off the continent entirely. Possible, no?

Then again, some fans connected the message to Episode 5’s warehouse collapse because whatever she saw under that tarp might push her to a point only the Hive can fix. Others think the Hive will not return on her terms, and she'll admit she needs them more than they ever needed her.

Either way, the fact that Pluribus fans discovered a clue with GPS coordinates makes the journey (for Carol and us) more delicious.
