Does Nobu die in Alice in Borderland Season 3? Character’s fate explored

Alice in Borderland Season 3 premiered on September 25, 2025, on Netflix. The sci-fi thriller series took us back to Arisu and Usagi's lives three years after the events that took place in Season 2. While they were now married and trying to live their life happily, Usagi is still seen struggling to live without her father, which is used by Ryuji to take her back to the Borderland to learn about the secrets of the afterlife.

This results in Arisu following her back to the life-threatening game with Ann's help. He meets several people in the first game, who become his companions throughout the games in Season 3. One of them was Nobu, a young participant, who, with the help of his friends, survived the games and returned to their real world.

Nobu, played by Kotaro Daigo, was a depressed kid who tried to take his own life, and just like others in Alice in Borderland Season 3, faced challenging situations throughout the series.

Nobu was one of the participants that Arisu met in the first game of Sacred Fortunes in Alice in Borderland Season 3. After surviving the million arrows engulfed in fire, Nobu found himself in a dangerous situation in the next game- the Zombi Hunt.

After being forced to kill a man with his shotgun card, he was infected by a zombie, who made him the next target for the humans in the game. However, after Arisu learns that only becoming a Zombie would make them survive the game, he and Nobu change their friends into Zombies and survive the game.

Like that, with helping each other and also losing some of their friends, Arisu and Nobu reach the final game where Arisu meets Usagi again. The game called Possible Futures lured most of them to doors where they saw happy futures for themselves. As a result, Nobu, who was asked to pair with Tetsu, went through a different door. While Tetsu died, Nobu survived as he chose a room that deducted fewer points from him, resulting in his survival.

At the end, with Arisu's plan of finding the exit, Nobu was among the survivors who got to exit the game and was also later saved by Arisu from drowning. As they go back to their real world, Nobu is shown to have graduated and promises his mother that he will take care of her now.

Like the previous seasons, Alice in Borderland Season 3 also depicted several deaths and sacrifices, but ended the story in a hopeful and satisfying way. At the end, Arisu and Usagi are excited to start their family and are choosing their child's name, while all the survivors are shown to be happy and content.

Furthermore, all the beloved surviving characters of the previous seasons also appeared, reprising their roles, and via talking to Arisu, who worked in the Counsellor clinic, they share what they have been doing in their lives after the traumatic events that they encountered in the Borderland.
