Netflix premiered Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser on August 15, 2025. With three total episodes, the docu-series focuses on NBC reality show The Biggest Loser participants. They participated to win the prize money in exchange for losing weight.
One of them, Danny Cahill, who also won the eighth season, is also part of the recently released Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser. Along with him are season 1 winner Ryan Benson, co-creator and executive producer David Broome, Dr. Robert Huizenga, the medical expert, and more.
The first episode features Danny Cahill sharing about his weight gain issues and his childhood.
"The first time I remember having knowledge that I was getting overweight was the third grade. I started gettin' teased a bit for being chubby and started seein' myself in the mirror. Of course, I realized, Uh, I'm gettin' fat. And it's been with me ever since that...ever since the third grade. It's been a monkey on my back."
Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser: Danny Cahill recalls his childhood and seeing the show for the first time
The Biggest Loser Season 8 winner Danny Cahill opened up about struggling with his weight in episode 1. Recalling that, he shared that since he was in the third grade, he learned about being overweight. As he started to see himself in the mirror, he had a realization about being "fat."
Sharing more about his early days, he shared with the cameras:
"I was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma. I was in a band that was doing really well. Something inside me was always sayin', You need to get out and say something, show your face to somebody, do something."
Over two decades, Danny lost around 1,000 pounds. However, he kept on getting it back. He noted how he "lived" it every day. Because of that, he couldn't do many things that he wanted to do. One of the things was spending time with his kids.
Danny Cahill recalled one of the incidents where he felt as if he was "missing life."
"So many times I took my kids to the fair, and they would get on a roller coaster, and I couldn't get on with 'em. I mean, I was missin' life."
Further, Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser star recalled watching TV one night. It was the first time he came across The Biggest Loser. His first thought after watching the show was that the show makers were making fun of "fat people."
Next week, he watched the show again, this time with his wife. He decided that he was going to watch it for "a bit." The episode featured participants moving forward with a challenge. They were supposed to hold the helium balloons and move around the field.
At first, Danny felt it wouldn't be "that hard." But, as he watched it, he went through the contestants' stories and emotions they were going through.
Netflix now streams all Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser episodes.
