"Extremely emotional": Big Brother's Rachel Reilly recalls the challenge that ended her journey

Big Brother 27's unexpectedly eliminated contestant Rachel Reilly attended an interview with Parade's Mike Bloom on September 11, 2025. She shared her thoughts on various incidents, including the elimination challenge that resulted in her eviction, Ava's strategy to pick Vince, and more.

Rachel also reflected on whether the situation might have turned out differently if she had talked to Ava with a calmer approach regarding picking her in the White Locust challenge.

She also mentioned what she went through before her turn in the task and how she would "never" take that ride again. When asked about her reaction to getting eliminated because of the task, Rachel said:

"The White Locust competition with this hamster wheel of death maze was extremely emotional. It was an emotional rollercoaster. And to be completely honest, I don't think that I ever want to take that ride again. (Laughs.)"

During her interview with Parade, Rachel was asked about the White Locust competition. She responded that it was a "wheel of death maze." She added that it was "extremely emotional." Rachel stated that she didn't want to go on that ride ever again and laughed about it.

Recalling the task and how she was not among the first participants to be chosen, Rachel said:

"It was, I think, from the moment that Ava had to make her first pick, I felt the urgency to pull her and talk to her and discuss the strategy of this game and this competition. Because not only were we fighting to stay in our like life in the Big Brother house, but we were also competing for an HOH comp, right?"

Hence, they "really needed" to ensure that they put their "most valuable allies" at the top of the competition, so that earlier chosen housemates would get more time to finish the task.

"Because this is an extremely strategic twist. This is a knockout comp. It's an HOH comp. And at the end of the day, this is probably one of the most like critical moments."

Additionally, whoever was going to be eliminated was going to the jury. Hence, they had to be careful about that as well.

Referring to Ava, the Big Brother star was "extremely disappointed" when she picked Vince. The reason was that Vince was one of the unpredictable housemates. No one knew what he was going to do or whom he was going to choose next.

While thinking that she had a better relationship with Ava, Rachel expected her to pick herself for the challenge next. However, that was not the case.

Furthermore, Rachel talked about what the situation might have been if she had taken a calmer approach while talking to Ava. She also mentioned that Big Brother was all about expecting the "unexpected."
