As Ironheart comes closer, the internet is abuzz with the rumor that one of the villains in the series is none other than Mephisto. For those who don't know, Mephisto is the devil in the Marvel Universe, who offers to fulfill one's wishes in return for the latter's soul. Some theorized that the mystical Hood that Parker Robbins uses in the series is connected to Mephisto.

Rumors of Mephisto's involvement in the MCU have been floating around the internet since 2021, as WandaVision was streaming on Disney+. People gave up the hope that Mephisto is involved in the MCU after WandaVision concluded, but the rumor gained new steam in October 2022, as Deadline reported that Sacha Baron Cohen had joined the MCU in an undisclosed role, rumored to be Mephisto.

Now, Marvel revealed the titles of the six episodes, of which the fifth episode caught the fans' eyes. The title of the Ironheart Episode 5 is "Karma's a Glitch", where the "M" in "Karma" is highlighted in red. The highlighted "M" has fans convinced that the red highlight signifies Mephisto's presence.

Ironheart Episode 5 title explained:

As mentioned above, the fifth episode is titled "Karma's a Glitch", with "M" in Karma highlighted in red. Many believe that the magical Hood that Parker Robbins is using in the series might belong to Mephisto, rather than the demon Dormammu, as it is in the Marvel Comics lore. Thus, some believe that Sacha Baron Cohen might be making his debut in Ironheart Episode 5, "Karma's a Glitch".

However, as of now, the Borat actor has yet to be confirmed officially as Mephisto in the MCU. Chances are that we may find out his role only next week, as the final three episodes of Ironheart stream next week on Disney+. But it is important to remember that this series was completed back in 2022, but it got reworked, and it is getting released only in 2025.

Therefore, chances are that the actor's role might get cut from the show in its final form. The Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, was asked about Sacha Baron Cohen's role in Ironheart during his appearance in a November 2024 episode of Phase Hero: A Film & TV Podcast. His response was a simple, “I wish I could tell you”, adding fuel to the rumor that Baron Cohen is indeed Mephisto.

For now, all we know about the series is that the six-episode miniseries is set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where we met Riri Williams for the first time. We know that the central antagonist of the miniseries is Parker Robins, who uses his access to magical powers to pull off heists. The synopsis of the series reads:

"Set after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, Marvel Television’s “Ironheart” pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos)."

Ironheart will be available on Disney+ with the first three episodes streaming together on June 24, 2025, at 06:00 PM PT.
